Conductor-in-training
Sing Ireland and the Irish Youth Choirs are inviting applications for a Conductor-in-Training role across our 2026 Summer Residential Courses at the University of Limerick. Working alongside Creative Directors Patrick Barrett (IYC 18 to 25 Years) and Lynsey Callaghan (IYC 14 to 17 Years), the successful candidate will be fully immersed in the life of the choirs - preparing selected scores, supporting rehearsals, and taking part in all course activities.
There will also be an opportunity to conduct one piece in the IYCs’ public performances, with additional opportunities to support and develop singers throughout the residential programme.
This is a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant youth choral environment.
This mentoring opportunity is open to musicians in the early stages of their conducting career who have had experience of training and conducting choirs. Candidates should be aged between 20 and 35 years in 2026.
