YouthSing Ireland
Funded and supported by Creative Ireland
WELCOME TO YOUTHSING IRELAND
YouthSing Ireland is an initiative that is led by Sing Ireland and supported by Creative Ireland. As part of the work, the below newly composed and developed resources in Irish or of Irish cultural heritage have been specifically commissioned for YouthSing Ireland and are designed to be used in formal (classroom) and informal settings (outside of the classroom). The new pieces below are by Seán Doherty, Róisín Blunnie, and Anne-Marie O’Farrell. These resources are intended to give access to fun and developmental resources to be used by teachers, musicians, and young people. The resources created in partnership with Folens education publishers are ideal resources both at home, in the community, and in the classroom.
EXCITING NEW SONGS AND RESOURCES
Please find all of the songs and resources below, along with information on SingSpace sessions, which will complement the work that can be undertaken in classrooms as part of YouthSing Ireland.

SingSpace is an exciting opportunity for young people to sing together again safely. Sing Ireland presents this exciting opportunity for schools to come together for a ‘pop up’ style event that does not require schools to prepare material in advance, although that is possible. The material will be drawn from the YouthSing Ireland resources HERE. We invite all schools to take part in this exciting new singing project.
A SingSpace is a place where creative singing happens. Creative singing ‘creates performance’ and is both participatory and presentational. SingSpace participants come together with vocal and choral experts to CREATE, PERFORM and DEVELOP in a physical site dedicated to singing. SingSpaces are located in sites of cultural and/or educational importance and bring students beyond the classroom.
Multiple schools/classes/choirs/singing groups come to the SingSpace. Participants will have been singing YouthSing Ireland repertoire and engaging with the online resources in their classrooms and choral groups and a SingSpace is the next stage of their creative singing journey. In the SingSpace, the YouthSing Ireland songs will be the basis for
- development of musical knowledge, vocal technique, and conducting skills
- creation of new music
- performance of the shared YouthSing Ireland repertoire as a massed choir
- performance of new music created in the SingSpace
