Allegri is a community music organisation and registered charity. Founded in 2013, we are proud to be one of the few remaining legacy projects from that City of Culture year. We manage junior, youth and ladies choirs, a symphony orchestra - Orchestra NorthWest - and the annual community singing celebration, the Every Voice Festival. www.allegri.co.uk

An Cór Gaelach is an All-Ireland award winning choir whose members are all past pupils of St Joseph’s Convent Grammar School in Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone. The choir was formed in the 1980s by Helen Bean Mhic Ruairí, nach maireann, to perform at the annual Irish language and Arts festival, Oireachtas na Samhna. The choir sing exclusively in the Irish language and a cappella. Their repertoire consists of two- and three-part harmonised songs from the Irish song tradition, including church songs, and all the harmonies were composed exclusively for the choir by An Br Mícheál Mac Eoin, nach maireann. They have performed at events across Ireland and Scotland, and have represented Northern Ireland at national competition level in the Royal Festival Hall in London. The choir recorded a selection of their favourite songs on CD, An Cór Gaelach which is commercially available.

A community choir singing for , fun and well being , who perform 4 or 5 times per year at Charity fundraisers.

Coole Harmonies is a young choir founded in 2005 as part of Coole School of Music & Arts, Gort, Co. Galway for singers age 8+. The Choir, led by Richard Pomfret, meet every Wed evening for 3 x 10-week terms. The choir has built up an exciting repertoire which includes classical, traditional as well as new pieces generally sung in SA, SSA and more recently they have expanded to SSAA. They have taken part in the Peace Proms in Galway accompanied by the Cross-Border Orchestra of Ireland and have entertained audiences at the Cork Choral Festival. New members are welcome to join at the start of the first term in Sept and should contact Coole Music for details.

Suara is an all female community choir based in Ennis, Co Clare. We meet on Wednesdays from 10.30 to 12.00 in Cois na hAbhna.

We are a group of music professionals, singers and academics who share a love for Early Music.

a Viva Voce is a Cork-based mixed voice choir of 52 members. It was founded in 2003 under its Musical Director Bernadette Kiely.

Our repertoire varies from Light, Popular, and Jazz, to Contemporary Choral works, Sacred Music, Songs from the Shows, Competition pieces, and a wonderful Christmas repertoire.

Our choir has performed at European Festivals in Vienna, Nice, Rome, Lake Garda, and Amsterdam. We have performed in the Royal Albert Hall in London, and our own National Concert Hall in Dublin.

African Gospel Choir Dublin sometimes colloquially referred to as AGC is a 15+ member, all volunteer choir of African descent founded in 2008 by Adeniyi Allen-Taylor. The choir blends elements of African Gospel, Negro spirituals, Accapella and American popular music. The choir's love of music and joy for life illuminates through their music. They are known to delight audiences with repertoire sung in English and their native languages. The Mission Statement of the Choir is making music with a purpose - to bring people close to the Lord. The choir showcases and helps develop the talents of young African singers in Ireland, and also to present to the world the richness in the voice and the melody of an all African Choir. The goal of the choir is to inspire and influence people positively and to promote Gospel music through African culture.

Alize’s School of Singing is a vibrant music academy offering expert vocal training and performance opportunities for students aged 4-18. Specialising in pop choir and musical theatre, the school provides a creative and supportive environment where young performers can develop their skills, build confidence, and explore their passion for singing. With a focus on personalised learning and group collaboration, Alize’s School of Singing nurtures talent and inspires excellence in music education.

Amici is a mixed group (non audition) community choir, established in 2018 and currently led by our Director: Morgan Crowley. The spirit of the choir is collaborative and fosters learning, growth and choral improvement in a fun, positive and encouraging way.

Our intention throughout is the celebration of the joy of singing. The name Amici was chosen as it represents inclusivity and friendship.

We are an adults Ladies choir in our 7th year and going from strength to strength. We rehearse every Thursday morning during term time in the Samuel Becket Civic Centre. We sing a wide variety of songs from all around the world, and perform for charities and nursing homes. This choir is all about singing for fun, with time for a chat and a cup of coffee half way through.

We are a newly established Adult Community choir for the Midlands area ranging in age from 18-80!. We currently have approximately 110 members. We sing SAB arrangements .

Anam Choir is a mixed voice pop/rock choir based in Wexford Town.
We sing popular songs from different eras so you’re guaranteed to be learning arrangements of some old favourites and be introduced to some new music too! We perform regularly around Wexford for our own events as well as others, and sometimes we venture further afield!
Anam Choir is a very warm and welcoming group of singers from all walks of life. So, if you’re looking for a new hobby, to get back into singing after a break, build your confidence, take part in performances and meet new people, we want to hear from you!

Aoide Voices is an adult choir for all voices and all abilities, based in Castletroy, Limerick & led by professional opera singer Owen Gilhooly-Miles & the Mid-West Vocal Academy.

 

The choir has grown to over fifty members and has already performed many fundraising concerts, most recently raising money for Limerick Animal Welfare, Limerick Lions Club, and CMRF Crumlin.

The choir covers popular, upbeat music & is non-auditioning. Everyone from the beginner to the experienced is welcome to join in a relaxed and fun learning environment!

As Béal A Chéile is an Irish language mixed voice choir established in 2023. It was founded by John Dunne. We are fortunate to have Mary Nugent as our musical director and our songs cover a wide range and include contemporary and popular songs as well as folk songs - all as Gaeilge. We meet from 19.30 to 21.30 on the first and third Mondays of each month in Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna, Knocklyon Road, D16HR26. Ascolta is an eight part choral ensemble based in Dublin. We’re a group of singers who share a passion for music and love singing together. Most of us are not professional musicians, we just sing together for the joy of it!​“Ascolta” means “listen” in Italian and we chose it because, as a self-conducted group, we need to actively listen to each other to create a unified sound for the audience to enjoy.

We Are Athy Sing And Sign Club\r\nBased in Athy, South Kildare, teaching Irish Sign Language (ISL) to children, teenagers and adults in a fun and friendly environment.

The ATU Voices Galway City is the staff choir in the new Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Galway City campus.

 

Aurora is 16-member mixed voice choir (SSAATTBB) performing mainly contemporary arrangements of sacred and secular pieces. Our repertoire is inspired by choirs such as Voces 8, The King's Singers and Tenebrae, amongst many others.

Avondale Voices is a Community Choir of 50+ members based near Avoca in County Wicklow, under the directorship of Jennifer Lee. Our members are drawn from all over Co Wicklow from Greystones to Tinahely. We sing a diverse range of music for local concerts and fundraising events. We have also been delighted to perform at Wicklow Culture Night and are regulars at the Wicklow Sings Festival.

We rehearse every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the Hartin Hall beside Castlemacdam Church, just south of Avoca on the road to Woodenbridge. We are always happy to welcome new members. If you’d like to sing and make new friends come and join a rehearsal. Why not bring a friend along? We have regular social events and are always learning and always having fun. All welcome, previous experience not required.

We are a 55 voice choir based in Co Wicklow with members coming from Greystones to Tinahely to sing and have fun together. We love to sing all kinds of music, from light classical to musical medleys and everything in between. We rehearse from 7.30pm - 9pm at Hartin Hall, Castlemacadam, Y14 NH5

The Choir was formed in 2019 and survived despite Covid. 3rd to 6th class pupils and some conti ue in 2nd level educstion. Mr Thomas Kehoe was the first musical director and was succeeded by Ms Orla Barry in 2023. Our aim is to turn Ballinteer into the best singing centre in the country for young people. I have been a member of the church choir for over 20 years. We have not sung together in the choir since before covid. Our previous Choir Director, Kevin Hallahan, retired from the choir during covid. Kevin sadly passed away last February. We are looking for a new Choir Director. We plan to rehearse every second Monday evening from 8.00pm to about 9.30 and sing at 11.00am mass every second Sunday. Applications from suitably qualified applicants would be much appreciated.

Established in the town of Ballyclare in 1933 it is one of Northern Ireland's oldest Male Choirs.

 

The choir is still based in Ballyclare although the members come from a wide geographic area. Ballyclare Male Choir is available for hire for a variety of performances including concerts, church and community events, civic events, weddings, and other special celebrations.

Bantry Community Choir was formed in conjunction with the HSE for all to come together and sing for the wellbeing of body and soul, and friendships.

 

Bantry Community Choir strives to serve the community of Bantry and the wider community of West Cork through quality choral music performances. It promotes an inclusive environment of shared musical experience through it’s ethos of community, social interaction and participation for all.

Established in 2000 as a volunteer activity with an Active Retirement group,
the choir has taken on a life of it's own with an annual fundraising performance, regular visits to nursing homes, and cross community musical interactions. Meets weekly September to May for two hours, mixed voice, some part singing.

Barony Choir is a community-based mixed voice choir established in East Cork in September 2011. We draw our members primarily from East Cork, with a small number from Cork city and other parts of the county. We are a mixed bunch, young and not so young, drawn from all walks of life.

 

The Belfast Philharmonic Choir (known as "The Phil"), led by music director Stephen Doughty, is Northern Ireland's only symphonic choir.

 

The 120+ strong choir performs at least four programmes per year, many alongside the Ulster Orchestra, including performances of Handel's Messiah every Christmas - a tradition that goes back as far as 1886. The choir performs a varied repertoire from classical choral oratorios to music from films and theatre. In May 2015, the choir gave the world première of James Whitbourn's The Seven Heavens, which was specially commissioned for the event, closing the choir’s 140th anniversary season. The Society holds an annual Come and Sing event where singers of all levels and experience can join the choir to learn and sing well-known works in a friendly environment. The choir also performs on tour, most recently in 2018 to New York for the US première of Patrick Hawes' Great War Symphony.

Bella Voce is a ladies choir. We sing a wide variety of songs including Classical, Jazz, Musical and Pop

Belle Harmonics is a pop rock harmony group with an eclectic set featuring songs from artists like Lady Gaga, Adele, Muse and Fall Out Boy alongside legendary classics from Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Kate Bush and Elton John.

Formed in 2003, Belle Voci is an all-female 3-part choir based in Clonmel, Co Tipperary that sings a wide-ranging repertoire of popular and traditional songs.

The thirty-odd members are under the musical direction of Eamon O’Malley, himself an accomplished musician.

Practice is held every Monday in St Joseph’s Church, Ferryhouse, Clonmel where the choir sings once a month at Mass. Belle Voci choir stage two concerts a year, Christmas and Summer, and take part in competitions, concerts & festivals at home and abroad. The choir always welcomes new members.

We are a community group based in Blackrock, Co Dublin. We are a mixture of new and experienced musicians and singers who meet every Wednesday in the Murray Centre at Guardian Angels Church.

Under the direction of Yvonne O'Conor the choir boasts between forty and fifty voices of all ages, Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses. We sing for our own pleasure and, on occasions, have joined with other choirs. We sing to celebrate important occasions like Christmas and Easter and to raise much needed funds for local and national charities. In the past few years we have performed in Germany, France and the UK as well as supporting a number of charities here in Ireland.

Ború is an amateur vocal ensemble under the musical direction of conductor Carmel Whelan.  

 

Ború Singers, a four-part 'a cappella' choir, has delighted audiences throughout East Clare, North Tipperary and Limerick since 2010. It evolved from Ballina Church Choir and some of the members are singing together for well over thirty years.

BRAVO Belles is a newly formed 3 Part Female choir based in Loughrea, Co. Galway.

 

The Bray Gospel Choir is a diverse group of singers who love performing different kinds of music, like Gospel, Soul, Pop, and Rock. We began in 2009 singing gospel songs and over time, we expanded our repertoire to include a mix of various music styles. Whether it's a small gathering or a big outdoor event, we're ready to bring our music to any occasion!

We are a fun, community choir based in Castlebridge, Co. Wexford. We sing all genres of music and perform at local events. The emphasis is on having fun whilst learning!

Cahir to Sing is a ladies choir based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

 

We were formed in January 2016 by a small group of women with a common interest in singing for pleasure. Our membership has since grown and our women hail from many parts of the globe and have a wide age range. We strongly believe in being inclusive and welcoming. As well as being a forum for social interaction we aim to build community through singing and connecting artistically with each other.

We cover a range of material in our repertoire, primarily secular and often religious. Our performances to date have included our annual Christmas concerts in the atmospheric surroundings of Cahir Castle, a full concert themed around the music of the 1960s, concerts in the historic St. Paul's Church in Cahir, participation in workshops and festivals and guest appearances at local fund-raising events.

Cairde is an adult, mixed voice, 'a capella' choral group of 12 members. Cairde performs a wide range of repertoire, from rock to baroque.

 

The Cairdeas Parkinson’s Choir meet every Wednesday in St. Fiachra’s Parish Centre, Loughboy, Kilkenny from 7-9pm. Membership is open to anyone living with or supporting someone living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Based in Baldoyle, the choir performs a varied repertoire from Sacred to Rock and Pop to Gospel. Choir members ranges in age from 19 to 70+.

 

They are previous holders of the Sacred and Gospel trophies at The A.I.M.S. Choral Festival in New Ross. They have also competed in The Navan Choral Festival, The Sligo Choral Festival, The City of Derry International Choral Festival, the Cork International Choral Festival and travelled to festivals in Lake Garda, Krakow, Florence and Wales. They also sang in the Vatican in Rome on St. Patrick’s Day 2018.

Many people have asked about the name Canbelto Women’s Choir. It is a play on the singing term Bel Canto or beautiful singing. We call ourselves The CanBeltos because we can really belt out a tune.

Candy runs a small local choir- Cór an Chroí, and singing courses, and community choir leader trainings.

 

Cantairi Avondale is a diverse group of people who enjoy singing beautiful music together.

 

Cantairí Chonamara is a mixed-voiced choir, with members from all over Connemara in the west of Ireland, that has sung together since it was founded in 1999.

 

Cantairí Mhuscraí is a mixed voice choir based in Ballincollig, drawing our repertoire from a wide range of music including church, Irish and popular pieces.

 

The choir has travelled extensively to music festivals throughout Europe including multiple visits to the UK, France, Italy, Greece, Austria, Poland and Spain where we performed at the Costa Barcelona festival in May 2023.

We rehearse from 7.20 to 9.20pm every Wednesday night at Ballincollig Community School, P31 E030.

We welcome new members in all ladies’ and men’s lines, without formal audition. Ability to read music is not essential, we just need singers who can hold a tune and blend into the overall sound.

Joining at this time of year is ideal as we begin to learn new music.

Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath is an international award-winning female voice choir based in Rathmines, Dublin.

 

The choir sings a varied repertory spanning Renaissance polyphony to Contemporary music and arrangements, and takes particular joy in the performance of Irish-composed music.

In November 2019 the choir competed in the 3rd International Choral Festival of Aveiro, Portugal, where they were awarded the festival Grand Prix, first prize in the Female Voice Competition, and second prize in the Sacred Music Competition. In April of the same year, they were the winners of the Feis Ceoil Ladies Choir competition.

Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath was founded in 1960 by Proinsias O'Ceallaigh. The choir enjoyed huge success over the years under the baton of the late Brian O'Dubhghaill and later Bernie Sherlock, winning awards in many competitions in Ireland and abroad. Brian Dungan has conducted the choir since 2018 and under his guidance, the choir is continuing its long and successful tradition of choral music.

Cantando is a mixed voiced chamber choir. A highly accomplished and versatile group, as well as good friends, Cantando sing in a variety of styles and genres, expertly guided by their talented director Orla Barry.

 

Cantate is a small and vibrant, multi-award winning group of mixed voices and is directed by Daniel Beuster. Founded in 2006, Cantate sings a varied repertoire of music including choral, madrigal and sacred works, as well as contemporary classics.

Canto is a community choir for people local to Butlerstown, Barryroe, Courtmacsherry, Timoleague and Clonakilty.
It is free to take part, there is no audition and no previous choir experience is necessary.
You are welcome whether you are an experienced musician or a complete beginner whatever your age*.

Cantóirí is a vibrant and friendly SATB chamber choir for adults. We share a common love of singing beautiful music together. Our rehearsals are Monday nights term-time 7.15-9.30pm.

We sing unaccompanied, short pieces. Our repertoire spans the centuries and styles, from Renaissance to modern. We have a particular interest in folk music from around the world. We aim to give 2-3 concerts and enter 1 national choral festival each year. We sing off by heart in most concerts and all competitions, so being a member takes commitment and some learning outside of rehearsals. Although sight-reading is not essential, familiarity with written music is helpful.

September & January are the best times to join, but we welcome interest from potential new members throughout the year. Our Soprano and Alto sections can fill up, but we often have room for new Tenors and Basses. There is a short audition. Members pay fees each term to cover the choir’s costs. Founded in 1995, Cappella Caeciliana is a chamber choir which specialises in singing sacred music. It has been directed by Matthew Quinn since 2022.

Cappella is a long established SATB choir of approximately 30 members. We rehearse every Thursday night from 7.15 pm to 9 pm in Dublin City Centre. We welcome singers of all levels to sing with us in a friendly and welcoming environment under the direction of our conductor Róisín King. We perform regularly, and like to travel to choral festivals in Europe.

In September 1965, a small group of people, who were interested in bringing classical music to the community of Carlow, got together to hear a recording of Handel’s ‘Messiah’. At that meeting it was decided to form the Carlow Choral Union. Under the influence of the Carlow Cathedral organist, Dr Karl Seeldrayers and a lecturer of music in Trinity College, Dublin, Dr Joseph Groocock, the new choir began rehearsals to sing ‘Messiah’ during the following spring and on March 29th 1966, its first performance took place, to acclaim, in St Dympna’s Hospital. Since then, the choir has gone from strength to strength, benefiting greatly from the input of a series of excellent musical directors. A change of name to Carlow Choral Society came about in 1989.

Since 1965, Carlow Choral Society has become one of the most eminent names in an astounding Irish network of choral music. This success has been the result of the many talented and skilled succession of musical directors that the society has befriended since its instalment.

It was with the objective to bring live choral music to the community of Carlow that Carlow Choral Society first came to light. They are a large group of amateur singers who aim to perform to a professional standard, directed by Blanaid Murphy and assisted by accompanist Yvonne Collier. The society is committed to promoting Carlow Town and County and take every opportunity to bring visiting choirs to the locality.

With over 85 members from all over County Carlow, and surrounding counties, all singers come from many backgrounds but share in common a passion for choral music, singing and a commitment to performing to audiences throughout County Carlow, Ireland and the rest of Europe. The society was invited to take part in the 200th anniversary of Halifax choral society(the oldest choral society in the world) in 2017 with world famous Black Dyke band.

The society has a prolific concert programme with performances in early Summer and Christmas in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow as well as the annual ‘Glory of Christmas’ concert with Raymond Gubbay Ltd. in the National Concert Hall Dublin. We have a wide repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Matthew's & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahms Requiem & many more.

Carlow Community Choir CCC (formerly Aspiro Inspired) were formed in 2013.

The choir rehearse every Friday morning at 10am and afterwards enjoy a cuppa and chat which for many has become just as important as the singing! Membership is open to anyone who enjoys singing in a group and welcomes a weekly challenge to reach their full potential regardless of age or previous singing or musical experience! CCC have taken part in Bealtaine Festival 'Dawn Chorus' and were the festival flagship choir in 2019. The choir performs regularly in Carlow and collaborate with other local choirs and organisations. Their most recent performance was in April 2023 as part of the International Pan Celtic Festival in Carlow.

Carlow Voices was established in 2002. It is a mixed SATB community-based choir in the Carlow area, created to provide an opportunity for singers to enjoy a challenging and rewarding musical experience.

 

Choir Biography:
Carrigaline Gospel Choir was founded in 2005 and have flourished and evolved into a harmonious group of singers who bring joy to audiences and congregations alike. They are proud that many of the founding members are still active in the choir which is a testament to the choirs character.
Under the leadership of Sinead Coakley Murphy the choir sing once a month in the Church of Our Lady and St John in Carrigaline. Over the years they have sang as part of 100 Gospel Voices, The Gospel Rising festival and many other charity events and fundraisers in Cork and Ireland. They have shared the stage with Amanda Neri, Katherine Jenkins along with world class Tenor, Jose Carreras in venues such as Cork's City Hall and Cork Independant Park. The choir's mission is to spread joy, harmony and positivity to all by singing uplifting music.

Formed in 1969, the Carrigaline Singers were originally a lady's choir who rehearsed weekly in the Old Church of Ireland School. In 1972 it became a mixed voice choir and under new directors became very successful winning many competitions like the prestigious Oireachtas competition in Dublin, Feis Maitiú and the Wild Geese Festival in Kinsale in 1982 and in the Cork Choral Festival.

 

Waterford Cathedral Music Programme has a range of opportunities for singers at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity Within, Barronstrand Street, Waterford.

Formed in 1998 the Celtic Choristers is a Male Voice Choir based in Dublin 6. With a membership of approx 40 members the Choir is now larger than ever. Open for new members we rehearse Thursday evenings.

Choir Club is a fun community choir based in Leopardstown. It comprises 60 upper voice singers, and an essential part of the rehearsal is the tea, cake and chat before we get to work! We perform one concert in December each year with all proceeds going to charity, and also perform an annual Xmas session at Belmont Nursing Home. Rehearsals are just once every 3-4 week so this a choir for those with busy lives who just want to add a bit of singing and fun to their schedule!

Choral Con Fusion is Cork's inclusive community choral group with a message of welcome to one and all.

 

Choral Con Fusion was established in late 2010. From the beginning the choir has aimed not only to make musical progress but also to be a bridge between communities and to be an organisation that would welcome everyone equally, regardless of musical experience, sexual orientation, gender or background. As such, the choir has modelled itself variously as “Inclusive” and “LGBTS” in an effort to convey this philosophy. The choir has grown consistently since its first rehearsal and has performed in a wide variety of venues and contexts. Rehearsals are every Wednesday night from 6.30pm in the city centre. New members are welcome in September and January.

Cineálta Choir is a mixed voice adult community choir based in Dublin 15. Founded in 2023 by musical director Shauna Donnelly, the group welcomes anyone who loves to sing in the local area. Our name, Cineálta, means kind in Irish, and kindness, inclusion, and connection are at the heart of what the choir is all about! Rehearsals take place from 7–9 pm on Thursday evenings. The ability to read music is not essential, but is an advantage. Members sing a diverse mix of repertoire, from choral favourites to modern arrangements of popular and folk music from various cultures. Get in touch to join in!

We are a mixed adult choir based in Dundalk and we perform a wide range of music from 16th to the 21st centuries. We perform locally, compete nationally and occasionally travel internationally (Rome, St Petersburg, Ulm, USA). Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights in DkIT.

Clonakilty Gospel Choir, founded in August 2024, brings the vibrant sounds of gospel music to West Cork, filling a unique gap in the local choir scene. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us in exploring a wide variety of musical styles, all delivered with an uplifting gospel flair. While our music is rooted in Christian traditions, our repertoire includes both secular and inspirational songs, ensuring everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background or musical experience. United by a shared love of music, we aim to foster a joyful, inclusive community. Come make beautiful music with us!

Clonakilty Voices is an award-winning, mixed voice community choir, established in 2012. Current membership is in excess of forty and new members are always welcome. The group meets for practice every Wednesday at 8pm during school term . An ability to read music is not required. After their inaugural concert, the choir was invited to sing for President Michael D. Higgins as part of the Clonakilty 400 celebrations in 2013. In 2014 they performed at Kenmare Choral Festival and were awarded the Luxembourg Shield for best seasonal presentation. Since then, the choir has performed at numerous concerts and events. The repertoire is varied, ranging from traditional pieces to musical numbers and more contemporary songs. There is a strong emphasis on fun and enjoyment among the group, with social nights forming an important part of the calendar!

Founded in 1982 Cois Cladaigh specialises in European music from the Renaissance period as well as contemporary choral music.

 

The choir has travelled widely including tours to France, Italy Spain,and Iceland.The choir has had considerable success in competition most notably at the Cork Choral festival and the Derry Choral Festival winning various premier awards.

The choir has also hosted many visiting choirs notably the Estonion Philharmonic chamber choir and a number of choirs from the US and Europe.

The choir has also commissioned composers to write for them including David Hamilton New Zealand. Javier Busto Spain, John Buckley, Micheál O Suilleabhain to mention a few.

Cois Cladaigh has collaborated with many groups such as the Orlando Consort, jazz musicians Carl Hession and Mathew Berrill among others.

The choir has recorded a number of CDs.

Comeragh to Coast Chorus was formed in early 2023. Consisting of 25 Ladies with a desire to sing as part of a group enhancing the gifts & talents each individual member brings to it. Music is ageless and this shows in the unique friendships that have formed within our group through the mutual love of music. We meet weekly to rehearse a selection of songs, Ballads, Pop, Country, etc., songs we all love to sing, that uplifts and brings joy to us and we hope the same to our future audiences too.

Continuum Youth Choir is a newly formed mixed youth choir that comprises girls who are or were members of St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral Girls’ Choir and boys who are or were members of the Palestrina Choir in the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin.

This new choir is not church based and is a competition and concert choir directed by Blanaid Murphy. Blanaid is a very well-known and respected choral director and she is aiming for the very highest excellence in choral music. Participating in a choir is all about teamwork and Blanaid is keen to develop the choir as a team and develop each of the teenagers so that they reach their maximum singing potential. Consequently, the Continuum Youth Choir has been set up to retain these very accomplished teenagers as a group.

Continuum has already performed in St Anne’s Church, Dublin in December 2018 and City Hall Dublin in March 2019.

Coole Voices are an adult Community Choir based in Gort, Co. Galway. An SATB choir, they are conducted by the very talented Dr Peter Mannion. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings in the Lady Gregory Hotel and are always great fun! They love to perform and hold several concerts throughout the year.

Cór Cois Abhann is a large choral ensemble based in Cork City with an eclectic membership. Founded in 1990, the choir has long experience in both arts and light repertory and has performed all over Europe and throughout Ireland, including broadcasts, recordings and regular concerts.

Some of the more notable works given have included Verdi’s Requiem, when the choir opened the Cork International Choral Festival in 2018, Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony (No.2), Durufles’s Requiem (Opus 9), Vivaldi’s Gloria, and The Faure Requiem, together with a very long list of smaller-scale repertoire. The Choir also performs Handel’s Messiah every second year.

The choir travels regularly and in words of one of the members. Past visits have taken the choir on tour to Budapest, Rome and Tuscany. New members are always welcome.

Cork Estonian Choir Esteire was founded in 2022. We are a group of Estonians living in Ireland who love to sing Estonian songs. There are no auditions, all we ask is interest in Estonian music and culture. The rehearsals take place at the Carraig Centre, Ballincollig, Co Cork every 1.st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

Cork Garda male voice choir consists of serving and retired members of an Garda Siochana and their associates living and working in Cork city and county. The choir rehearses each Monday evening and performs at Masses and Charity concerts.

The Operatic Society was formed in 2005 to continue the Cork tradition of community based opera. The society has worked with Cork Opera House in numerous operas by singing the choruses; of such operas as. Pagliacci, The Magic Flute, Cavalleria Rusticana,The Mikado,,Rigoletto and Tosca and many more. We performed Summer Evening in the Quad with UCC and in 2019 we gave a special 10th birthday concert in the Cork School of Music. Our work is project based; i.e. working at weekends to prepare for a performances in the Opera house and other venues around Cork city and county.

Credo is an award-winning SATB chamber choir based in Trim. The choir specialise in a cappella music of all genres.

Highlights from 2018 include a performance at the “Night of Choirs” in Budapest and at the Irish international accapella competition.

Cappella Lyrica  is an equal-voice choir comprised of students of the BMus programme at the CIT Cork School of Music that is under the directorship of Maria Judge.

 

This 50-strong choir is comprised of boys and girls aged 7 to 11 years. It performs at least twice yearly and presents repertoire from the Children’s Choral Literature, many from the pens of Irish composers such a Brian Boydell, John Buckley and Sue Furlong.

 

Aged 11-early teens, the Senior Chorus follows from the Junior Chorus but also welcomes new members. The Choir perform twice yearly and regularly combines with the Youth Choir to compete with great success in National Choral Competitions.

 

This vibrant and enthusiastic choir range in age from mid to late teens. Most have had some experience in choral singing and all are interested in public performance, both choral and solo.

 

The Culwick Choral Society is a mixed-voice amateur choir with a membership drawn from all over Dublin and beyond. Founded by Dr. James Culwick in 1898, it is the oldest choral society in Ireland.

 

We perform two major concerts annually, one at Christmas and the other in the Spring. The choir

takes pride in singing many of the great choral masterpieces, including Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bach’s

B Minor Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem and Haydn’s Creation. We

have also premiered new works by leading contemporary composers, including Bob Chilcott’s On

Christmas Night and Jonathan Dove’s Arion and the Dolphin.

In 2005, the Society received the Santa Cecilia Choral Award from the Vocal Heritage Association of

Ireland in recognition of its contribution to Dublin’s cultural life since 1898. In 2006, we were

pleased to be chosen as the Ryder Cup Choir at the opening of the tournament in the K Club, Co.

Kildare. In 2016, the choir participated in A Nation’s Voice, a celebration of the 1916 rising,

comprising about 1,000 voices.

In 2017, Culwick performed at the Canta Al Mar International Choral Festival in Calella, Spain, along

with many other choirs from around the world.

In 2018, to mark its 120th year, we commissioned a piece by the Irish composer, Sean Doherty,

based on the Brendan Kennelly poem the Happy Grass. It was premiered by Culwick at the National

Concert Hall in December of that year.

Do you love singing challenging and rewarding music in a friendly committed group with a wide range of ages and nationalities? Cuore is an internationally award-winning auditioned mixed-voice chamber choir based in Dublin, founded by conductor Amy Ryan in 2014. The choir consists of thirty singers (including professional musicians) committed to high-level performances of rewarding music, from early polyphony to contemporary premieres.

The choir has consistently achieved high standards, including Gold at the International Choir Competition Ave Verum, Austria (2024) and two second prizes at the Tallinn International Choir Festival (2023). Closer to home, Cuore achieved first places at the Feis Ceoil (2023), Cork (2018), Mayo (2016), Sligo (2016) and New Ross (2015). We have a particular affinity for contemporary classical music, having won special prizes in Tallinn (2023), the Feis Ceoil (2023) and Cork (2022 and 2018).

Beyond competitions, the choir engages in charitable performances, collaborations with orchestra and its own regular concerts. A typical choir year includes weekly rehearsals from September to early June, one or two weekend rehearsals a term, three or more concerts a year, informal performances at Christmas, regular social events, and a trip to a competition or festival in Ireland or abroad.

Cór an Chroí is the school competition choir for Loreto College Mullingar.
It is a new choir created in the school this year by Ms. Claire Gilmartin and Ms. Laura Cahill. The choir comprises 32 members from all year groups.
The name ‘Cór an Chroí’ was chosen for the choir as the heart is one of four symbols within the Loreto School crest. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary within the crest symbolise their constant love for us.
The newly formed choir to date, have performed at school based events including ‘Arts Week’, ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ and at Mullingar Arts Centre.
The choir meets once a week for rehearsal.

Cór Comáin, translated as ‘Roscommon Choir’, is an Upper Voice Choir established in September 2017 by Roscommon native, Derek Mahady. The choir chose the name which pays tribute both to Roscommon’s patron saint and to their proud Roscommon origins. To date, the choir has helped to raise over €10,000 for charities including the Irish Motor Neurone Association and Western Alzheimers. In May 2018, Cór Comáin was awarded category winners in the First Time Competitors section of the Mayo International Choral Festival. In May 2019, the choir travelled to the UK and performed alongside three London Choirs conducted by Hannah Brine in St. Stephen’s Church, Walbrook, City of London. As part of their programme of events for 2024, the choir will travel to Dresden, Germany to take part in another exciting choral exchange.

Cór Fingal was set up by former members of Enchriadis Chamber Choir and Fingal Choral programme in order to continue and develop the tradition of choral music initiated by Dr Marion Doherty in 1988. Now, the choir is conducted by Eoin Conway and has since won various awards at different Choral Festivals.

Cór Geal is a 4-part mixed choir of some 50 adults based in Whitechurch, Co. Cork.

 

Cór Lae Nua is a female voice chamber choir based in Cork city under the musical direction of Mr. Nicholas McMurry. The choir was born in August 2016 when a group of friends came together to experience the challenges and pleasures of singing in a small choir.

 

Cór Linn is an auditioned mixed-voice choir for young singers aged 14-19, meeting weekly during term time in the National Concert Hall to learn and perform a wide variety of repertoire from classical to pop.

 

The choir was formed by RTÉ in August 2018 to give opportunities for teenage singers to move on from treble to four-part harmony singing (SATB). In January 2022 the choir transferred with the National Symphony Chorus and Cór na nÓg to become part of the NCH choral family.

Many current members were previously in Cór na nÓg and others sing with the Irish Youth Choir and school choirs. Concerts have included performances with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, New Music Dublin Festival 2019,2020 and 2022, Pipeworks Festival 2019 and a TV appearance on the Ray D’Arcy Show.

Rehearsal are highly focused, including sectionals and regular voice coaching, but there is great emphasis on the enjoyment of learning and performing too. Choral singing is all about teamwork, self-expression, fun and joy in the music and we are really excited to be continuing our musical journey together - it’s OUR choir!

Rehearsal Times: during term time - Saturday 11.30am-1.30pm plus concert dates as required

Cór Mhaigh Eo was established in 1994. Under the direction of Dr Brian Lennon, the choir sings a wide repertoire of sacred and secular choral music ranging from the 16th century compositions of Byrd, Victoria and Monteverdi right through to contemporary composers such as Whitacre, Lauridsen and Dubra.

 

We are a new community choir which started in February 2022. We welcome all new members regardless of age (over 16), ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. We currently have 40 members. No auditions are required and new members are welcome to come along and try it out. Rehearsals take place at the school every Tuesday night with doors opening at 6.45pm where tea/coffee and snacks will be served, rehearsals commence at 7.15pm sharp and finish at 8.45pm. The cost is €7.00 per night with a €20.00 annual membership fee. We are a Not for Profit group. We support two local charities.

cór na nÓg was formed by RTÉ in 1985 for singers aged 9-14 and is one of Irelands leading treble SSA choirs (Soprano 1, Soprano 2, Alto).

Since moving from RTÉ to the National Concert Hall in February 2022 , with the National Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Chorus and Cór Linn youth choir, we are enjoying rehearsals in our new home and opportunities to take part in exciting projects and concerts.

We meet in the NCH twice a week during term time and perform regularly, with Christmas always being particularly busy! The choir has sung in hundreds of events, working with guest musicians of the highest calibre, appearing on RTÉ TV and Radio as well as performances with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.

Our Team provides first-class choral tuition in a relaxed and happy atmosphere where young singers can develop both vocally and socially. The repertoire is varied with the best music from all genres. Many members continue their singing in Cór Linn youth choir and as adults, life-long friendships are formed and many have returned as Cór staff.

Singing is not just a hobby for us, it is a vital part of who we are, and as we head into our futures, we go confidently, knowing that we have been given, literally, Voices for Life.

Córde are a friendly mixed-voiced choir that love performing old & contemporary choral music. We seek out people interested in singing great music to a high standard.

DARA choir was set up in 2011 and is open to all members of the Dalkey Active Retirement Association (DARA). 

 

The purpose of Danu Young Women’s Choir is to provide a safe and open environment for young women to come and be themselves while experiencing personal growth, and deepening bonds with like-minded individuals through the medium of excellent choral singing and community outreach.

 

We strive to create an ensemble that provides entertainment and support for our local, national, and international communities.

DARA choir was established in 2011 as one of the many activities of Dalkey Active Retirement Association (DARA). The choir was set up to give members an opportunity to experience the joy, fun and many other benefits of singing together. There are no auditions and there are currently 85 members.

We are a SATB choir and meet on Wed afternoons under the direction of Derek Verso. Members often meet in each other's homes to enhance learning and build friendships. While socialization and a love of singing is important to us, we are eager to expand our repertoire as we work towards our main concerts: A charity Christmas concert, and a summer concert, both held in the local church. We have participated in the Limerick Sings International Choral Festival in 2013 and 2017 but have not been back since Covid struck. We also participate in the Big Sing.

The Dingle New-Music Choir and Orchestra was founded by its conductor, Gábor Péli (Bmus) in September 2014. The Dingle New-Music Choir and Orchestra strives to perform newly written and old repertoire of art music for mixed voiced choirs accompanied by the orchestra and strives to perform solo orchestra repertoire of art music.

 

It also seeks to preserve the local heritage of poetry, song and folklore involving the commission of local composers and artists with emphasis on the Irish language. It aims to promote, encourage and train its vocalists and musicians. Simultaneously it aims to foster a social interaction for its members who support its musical aims and objectives. The choir and the orchestra are committed to perform monthly in the local church at Saturday evening Vigil mass. The choir and orchestra will always be part of the community and will welcome all individuals without exclusion.

Choir practice is on Monday night at 6.15pm-8.30pm, Orchestra practice is on Wednesdays at 7.00pm-9.00pm in An Díseart, Green Street. Basic theory, music reading and rhythm classes are organized when requested or needed.

The Dingle New-Music Choir and Orchestra performs at least two major recitals usually in December and in April/May.

Diva Voces is a Dublin based award-winning Female Voice Choir led by the dynamic and skilled musical director Duncan Brickenden. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings in a city centre location.

For two hours weekly each Diva leaves behind her everyday life to join with her fellow Divas to celebrate the power and beauty of the female choral voice. We are Divas in that we aspire to the power and passion of the traditional Diva but we cultivate an atmosphere of friendliness and mutual support. We work hard while enjoying companionship and laughter. We sing in four part harmony and have developed an extensive repertoire and a very faithful following. Our repertoire ranges from classical and sacred music adapted for SSAA choirs to traditional Irish music, gospel, swing, folk and popular music.

Our Aims and Objectives

Diva Voces has a commitment whenever possible to supporting women artists and performers and to commissioning pieces from female composers for the choir. We are in the process of relaunching our policy of outreach to different voices and communities in Dublin.

We hold auditions twice yearly in September and January. We are always happy to welcome good singers to our choir. Sight reading is a definite bonus but not a prerequisite.

We do have a strong commitment to our standard of performance - so we require regular attendance at weekly rehearsal and a commitment to practice between rehearsals as well as a commitment to the tradition of friendliness and mutual support. We are Doire Calgach Singers known locally as Calgach Singers formed in 1996. We sing a varied programme of 60's music with American Songbook, jazz, church music. Singing is very important to us all and through time we appreciate our Calgach Family and the support we all give each other. Plenty of craic to be had and we always welcome new members.

Founded in 2005, Dolce has grown in both numbers and standard since the early days. We have won prizes in choral events around the country including Cork, Limerick, Navan, and have travelled abroad to wonderful countries including Bonn, Bratislava, Vienna, Bilbao, Lake Garda. COVID left us without a permanent venue, but we hope that we have finally found our new home in Ardscoil la Salle on the Raheny Road. We have around 60 members who come from near and far to sing with our friendly, welcoming singers.

Dolcissimo is a ten person vocal ensemble, initially founded in 2006 as a small ensemble of the larger choir, Dolce, under the musical direction of Deirdre Ní Chaomhánaigh. For four years, this a cappella group sang in various concerts, festivals and indoor and outdoor events in the greater Dublin area, as well as in the Sligo and Derry Choral Festivals. The group broke up in 2009 and reformed in September 2019 with three of the original group. They sing a mixture of secular and sacred music, and songs include ‘Moon River’, ‘Bring me Sunshine’, ‘Bring Him Home’, ‘Loch Lomond’, Taverner’s ‘The Lamb’ and Bruckner’s ‘Locus Iste’. Dolcissimo won the Chamber Choir Competition in New Ross in 2023 and were placed 2nd in the Scared Music Competiton.

The Donegal Youth Choir is an ensemble of young people aged between 12 - 18 who enjoy singing.

 

They continued to sing during the Covid lockdowns, creating online videos of songs such as Coldplay's 'Fix You' and dodie's 'Secret For The Mad'. Outings for the DYC have ranged from Electric Picnic to Lourdes.

We rehearse every Monday night in the church at De La Salles college Waterford at 7pm till 9pm. Our MD is a young man named Damien Kehoe.

 

Douglas Harmonia Singers is a dynamic award winning choir, rehearsing Monday evenings 8 pm - 10 pm at the Ardfallen Centre, Douglas Road, Cork.

DHS is a three part female upper voice choir who sing a varied repertoire including jazz, folk, classical and popular music. Their conductor, Anne Ralph, is a lecturer at the MTU Cork School of Music with an active choral background as conductor, singer and accompanist. They participate in competitions, concerts, social nights and charity events throughout the year.
Rehearsals are on Monday evenings 8 pm - 10 pm at the Ardfallen Centre, Douglas Road, Cork.

Drimoleague Community Choir was founded in 2018 as an initiative of the Drimoleague Singing Festival. The choir is open to all and encourages participation in singing, friendship and fun with no previous experience necessary. The choir meets weekly under the direction of Susan McManamon and sings a variety of pop, folk, spirituals, classical and Irish traditional songs. The sharing of the joy of song is at the core of all they do. The choir aims provide a year round means of nurturing the towns singing culture and is seen by its members as an important social outlet as well as being an interesting and creative collaborative activity. Drimoleague Community Choir has performed in a number of concerts in its home village, raised money for charity singing Christmas carols, performed as a pop-up choir during the Singing Festival and performed with Jack O’Rourke (2019), Jessie Lloyd (2023) and Jack L (2023).

Drogheda Male Voice Choir formed Drogheda Boys Choir in September 2017 with Sharon Gaynor (Voice of Ireland) as musical director. The initiative to form the choir revived a long tradition of choirs for junior boys in Drogheda after a lapse of nearly fifty years.

 

Dublin Airport Singers is a long-established North Dublin choir based in Seafield Road W, Clontarf. The choir has a diverse repertoire encompassing sacred, secular, ancient and modern music from many countries and cultures.

Dublin City Choral Union was founded in June 2018 under the artistic direction of Duncan Brickenden.

 

Originally formed in 1996 the Dublin Gospel Choir have come together to share their music with an uplifting energy and positive message. They have since become Ireland’s premier expression of gospel music. Performances by the Dublin Gospel Choir include music festivals at home and abroad, corporate events, studio recordings, theatre concerts, weddings and collaborations with a host of musical artists including John Legend, Rod Stewart, Duran Duran, Outkast, Kodaline and Ennio Morricone to name but a few. Their annual slot at Ireland’s internationally-acclaimed boutique festival Electric Picnic is now legendary. Dublin Gospel Choir are a group of performers with a shared passion for music and song. Versatile and vibrant they always aim to inspire and energise audiences from all walks of life with their music.

Since the beginning of Dublin Youth Choir in January 2017, DYC has grown to be a family of choirs: four Junior Choirs, Training Choirs, Cambiata Choir, Youth Choir, Chamber Choir, and DYC Singers.

Dublin Youth Chamber Choir also constitutes one half of the Cross Border Youth Choir, joining with the Belfast Philharmonic Youth and Chamber Choirs for various events and projects, including coaching from the BBC Singers and a performance in the Royal Albert Hall. Among many other successes at competitions in Ireland and abroad, Dublin Youth Choir was named Ireland’s Choir of the Year 2022 at the Cork International Choral Festival and Youth Choir Champions at the European Choir Games in Sweden in 2019.

Duhallow Choral Society founded in 1996, The key to our success over the years has been a high level of dedication, training and commitment by each member thus enabling the choir to achieve a high standard of excellence while maintaining spirit vision and enjoyment.

 

Founded in January 2015 by Eoghan Desmond and Judith Lyons, Dulciana is a chamber choir committed to performing the very best in music for upper voices from across the ages.

 

Since its very inception, part of Dulciana’s mission has been the promotion of music by female composers, both those neglected by history, and those currently making history. This first manifested itself in the form of a concert consisting entirely of music by female composers – five pieces written for Dulciana by composers based in Dublin, alongside music by Rebecca Clarke and Imogen Holst. The following year, on International Women’s Day, they launched a call for scores for music by emerging female composers and received over 80 scores from across the globe. Highlighting the many talented musicians within the group, their most recent concert featured a programme consisting entirely of works composed or arranged by members of the ensemble.

They are also firm supporters of contemporary Irish composers, and alongside many pieces by female Irish composers, they have premiered works by Seán Doherty, Jonathan Nangle, and Eoghan Desmond. Further recent performances and accolades include collaborations with multi-instrumentalist and composer Dowry, percussionist Maeve

O'Hara, guest performances at Kaleidoscope Night and the Pipeworks Festival, and First Prize in the Upper Equal Voice Category at the Derry International Choral Festival 2019.

Founded in 1982 by Séamus Crimmins, Dun Laoghaire Choral Society (DLCS) is an SATB choir of circa 100 singers, based in the County of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. Our Music Director is John Doyle. Our Accompanist is Fergal Caulfield.

Choir practice is on Thursday evenings from 7.30-10.00 PM at the Quaker Meeting House in Monkstown.

The choir's wide repertoire includes well-known and rarely performed choral works, from early music to contemporary choral music. Over the past 40 years we have sung in most major Dublin venues with some of Ireland's leading orchestras and international artists. We also participate in local community singing activities.

We perform four concerts per season with leading professional musicians and soloists. We are always singing something new and exciting! Our aim is to share our love of choral music with our audiences and our wider community.

We hold an Open Evening in September each year for aspiring members to get a taste of what we do.

Dunshaughlin Choral Society was formed in 1975 by Roisin De Blacam and Marie Naughton. It has a membership of approximately 50 singers. Our Musical Director is Grace Bergin.

 

East Cork Choral Society, founded in 1979, has stayed true to its original intention of singing mainly Oratorio, using young soloists and orchestra. They have performed all the major oratorios, and some less familiar, at least two a year. In addition they have raised a substantial amount for various charities.

Eden Chorale is a community-based mixed-voice choir. The choir rehearses once a week from September through to May.

 

Our repertoire is varied and includes classical, sacred, popular and traditional. We take part in fundraising events, revues and cultural activities in the locality. We took part in Culture Night in September. Currently, we are preparing for our Christmas concerts.

New members are always welcome.

Edmund Rice Choral and Musical Society is an all-female choir based in Waterford City singing for the entertainment of others and the enjoyment of themselves.

 

Enchiriadis Treis is a mixed adult choir of about 120 voices, based in Malahide. Founded by Dr. Marion Doherty Hayden in 1994, we are united by our love of choral music and by a desire to perform it at the highest possible leve in recent years we have performed in most of the major Dublin venues plus in our local areas.

 

Encore Voices is a mixed voice choir of 50+ singers. Founded in 2015 the choir is based in Ranelagh, Dublin.

Weekly rehearsals are held in Centenary Hall, Leeson Park, Ranelagh on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members are always welcome. Sight reading is an advantage but not a requirement.

Under the guidance of Musical Director, John Doyle, the choir presents at least 2 concerts each year which frequently include accomplished soloists and instrumental accompaniment.

The Choir has performed in The National Concert Hall, Dublin; Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh; Church of St Therese, Mount Merrion; The Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire; Saint Bartholomew's Church, Clyde Road and St Stephen's Church (Pepper Canister), Mount Street Lower.

Encore Voices have also had the wonderful experience of performing with world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli at the 3Arena Dublin on 3 occasions including his recent concert in Sept 22.

Enniscorthy Choral Society is a community-based choir that was formed in 1993 by Donagh Wylde who continues to direct us.

 

EGC is a vibrant group of singers dedicated to providing a broad range of gospel music to a diverse audience. Established in2005 our members are united by faith,fun and friendship,enjoy weekly meetings for relaxed yet musically interesting rehearsals during the academic year. Membership is open to all over 18 years of age.There is no audition process however we would ask any potential members to be able to sing back a note. We rehearse in the Wexford Farmers club every Wednesday so do come along if wish to give Gospel singing a go.

Every Voice Choir is a group where everyone is welcomed - no audition. We cover a wide genre of music and the focus is on member enjoyment.

Whilst we cover a programme of songs to help improve our harmonies and vocal technique, we also give people a chance to sing their favourite song at the end of the practice. As its a community-based choir we leave space for chatting at the beginning and sometimes during the choir session so that people connect with one another.

Set up in 1896, Feis Ceoil Association promotes excellence in the learning and performance of music across all ages, levels, and disciplines.

We run an annual festival before Easter each year in Dublin which comprises almost 200 competitions, attracting over 5,000 participants from all over the island of Ireland. We also run non-competitive events and concerts throughout the rest of the year.

Adult choir competitions at Feis Ceoil comprise: classical repertoire, gospel, jazz, madrigal singing, Irish language/traditional, sacred music, and music from the musicals.

Feis Ceoil occupies a unique position in Irish life, providing a forum of professional benchmarking, constructive criticism, and general encouragement to all who participate.

Fermoy International Choir was founded in 2019 to encourage those from other countries to come join with local people and sing together. A strong emphasis on integration, forming friendships and fun through the medium of song.

Fingal Chamber Choir was founded in September 2006 by director David Maxwell. Our repertoire is extensive and varied, ranging from mediaeval to contemporary music, classical sacred repertoire, and lighter arrangements.

 

Fingal Gospel Choir are a community choir based in North County Dublin. Founded in March 2012, the choir rapidly expanded from a small group of friends singing for fun to an award-winning gospel choir.

In just over 18 months, the choir entered their first ever choral competition and were awarded the First Place trophy in the SATB Competition at Sligo International Choral Festival 2013. A year later, they were awarded Second Place in the Mixed Voices competition at Navan Choral Festival, second place at Sligo Choral Festival, and third place in Cork International Choral Festival, 3 times in a row.

The choir performs regularly at church masses and for charitable organizations, helping to give back to the community. FGC are all about community spirit, cooperation, and teamwork, and enjoying the opportunities given. Their mission is to spread joy and happiness through singing and performing for the people - by the people.

The Fleischmann Choir was founded in November 1992. Initially called the Cork School of Music Symphony Orchestra Chorus, it sang in public for the first time on 22 April 1993 when it gave a concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Cork’s City Hall to mark the opening of the 40th Cork International Choral Festival. The programme was of music by Aloys Fleischmann – one of the founders of the Festival – who had died the previous year. Shortly after this concert, and with the permission of the family, the choir was renamed in memory of the man who did so much to further the cause of choral music and choral singing in Ireland. From 1992 to 2013, the choir was led by founder-conductor Dr Geoffrey Spratt (former Director of the Cork School of Music, and founder-conductor of the Irish Youth Choir and Canticum Novum). In 2013, Conor Palliser was appointed conductor; and since September 2022, the choir has been under the direction of Tom Doyle.

The Fleischmann Choir has achieved an enviable reputation for fulfilling its mission to perform major works and large-scale repertory for mixed-voice choir and orchestra. Recent concerts have included Stanford’s Stabat mater, Charpentier’s Te Deum, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Poulenc’s Gloria, Vaughan Williams’ Towards the Unknown Region, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem and Dvořák’s Stabat mater. In addition, the choir has accepted invitations as diverse as ‘Songs of Praise’ for the BBC, backing Johnny Logan during the Eurovision Song Contest broadcast by RTÉ from Millstreet, Co. Cork, and singing with Niamh Kavanagh for her RTÉ Christmas Show from Cork Opera House. The choir tours regularly with past performances in Italy and Germany.

Forte Women’s Choir are Conducted by our award-winning Musical Director, Serena Standley, with our incredible Accompanist Joseph Norton, Forte Choir are a fun group of women of all ages, singing everything from pop, musical theatre, and rock to Disney classics and everything in between! Gathered Voices was established in 2019 as a community choir to bring together people through the power of music and song.

 

Our Choir is a fantastic creative outlet and a great social activity, bringing together a diverse cross-section of the local community from across Mid Ulster. As well as a great social and creative activity, the positive impact of choir singing on mental and emotional wellbeing is well evidenced and fundamental to what we do. To get involved you don’t need to be able to read music or have any previous choral experience. Through the support and guidance of our experienced director, and your fellow singers, you will quickly develop skills and begin to experience the joy of singing together.

Glaslinn Choir is a 3 or 4 part female voice Choir. We are based in Bandon but our members come from many different parts of West Cork and Cork City. Under the musical direction of Antoinette Baker we have a wide repertoire of popular, folk, classical and religious music. The choir sings at many fundraising events and also takes part in choral competitions and travels abroad to choral festivals. There is a very friendly, supportive atmosphere in the choir and new members are always welcome. An ability to read music is not a requirement as teach tracks are also provided. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings in Bandon.

The Goethe Choir, established in 1965, is a mixed voice choir with a friendly and strong international flavour. Under John Dexter’s expert guidance we challenge ourselves with a varied and ever evolving repertoire. We love that John brings out the best in us and work hard to meet his expectations. As a medium-sized choir of 75-85 singers, we are well suited to take on major works by Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Brahms etc, as well as chamber choir music by for example Byrd, Schütz, Britten and Rutter. We rehearse in the comfortable Lutherhaus on Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, every Tuesday evening. Annually we perform in two large concerts; one at Christmas in the National Concert Hall and one in Spring in a variety of venues. We also engage in various other somewhat smaller projects during the year, including Summer performances, and occasionally bring our music abroad. Gorey Choral Group is a mixed choral group which has been singing together for over 40 years.

 

Founded in 1977 by a group of friends who all shared a common love of performing and singing a varied genre of music from light popular to jazz and sacred music.

The choir now boasts 38 members who, in recent times, are privileged to sing under the musical direction of Mrs Eithne Corrigan who tirelessly and patiently gets the best out of the voices of each choir member. Under her direction the group has performed to packed houses for their annual Christmas Concert, given successful charity performances, are regular contributors to Christmas Day Mass and she has led the group to success in a variety of choral competitions with the choir achieving first place many times in the Light Jazz & Popular Music sections at both the Arklow Music Festival and Cork International Choral Festival.

GRACENOTES is a female choir established in 1999 and is based in Ballyhaunis, Mayo with over 30 singers drawn from the locality and surrounding counties.

 

Greystones Children's Choir is a new choir running in Greystones on Saturday mornings. Run by local musicians James Bingham and Aoife O'Connell.

The Guinness Choir has been at the centre of Irish choral culture since its foundation in 1951. We are a self-funded, mixed voice choir of 100+ members based in Dublin.

 

As its name suggests, this choir strives to promote harmony through learning and performing choral music. Using solfege, rhythmic syllables, and kinesthetics as teaching tools, it provides an excellent foundation in music, all through the joy of singing together. Holly Santillo has directed choirs in the United States and the Dominican Republic. She is thrilled to be sharing her love of the choral arts with the children in her new home.

Harmony Federation is a 30-strong male ‘a cappella’ group singing in the Barbershop style, founded at the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers (IABS) Convention in 2011, to become Ireland’s National Men’s Barbershop Chorus. We meet once a month in Dublin and draw our members from all over Ireland, most of whom also sing with other groups – mixed voice, male voice, musical societies, etc. Our Director since 2015 is the award-winning Linda Corcoran who brings a wealth of experience, boundless energy and a deep and genuine passion for close harmony singing and we are going from strength to strength under her direction.

The IGNITE gospel Choir started in 2008 and is a vibrant inclusive choir. We welcome singers of all ages and backgrounds to join IGNITE. People with a desire to sing and meet new people. We have social events throughout the year which help to build relationships. We enjoy travelling to events in other countries, and have visited Italy, France, Spain, Copenhagen and the UK and in 2025 look forward to visiting Sweden for the Music and Arts event.

Il Coro Italiano di Dublino, founded by Dr. Rosa Maria Chicco- Ferraro, performs mainly Italian music. Originally, the choir was drawn, for the most part, from adult students of Italian language and literature in Dublin.

Now, we welcome all those interested in singing Italian music.

Our repertoire includes opera choruses, sacred music, and folk music, mainly Italian.

The choir rehearses every Saturday morning from 10.30 am until 12.45 pm at Leinster Cricket Club in Rathmines in Dublin 6.

In Caelo is a chamber choir from Inistioge, County Kilkenny, formed in 2006 by Peter Nolan from members of the local parish choir who wanted to expand their repertoire. The strong tradition of singing and music in Inistioge dates back to pre-famine times when the village boasted a Brass and Reed band. The choir currently has twelve members, who are mostly from the Inistioge area but with a few from further afield. “Our repertoire is both spiritual and secular and ranges from Palestrina, Tallis, Mozart and Handel to John Rutter and Arvo Pärt, including traditional spirituals and popular songs. We sing for the enjoyment of singing but also enjoy stretching ourselves with new repertoire. The group has been successful over the years at a number of music festivals and competitions and have appeared on RTE Radio. They regularly sing in concerts in Kilkenny, Wexford, Tipperary and further afield.

Indie Choir is an all-female Adult Pop Choir in Voiceworks Studio. We pride ourselves in creating a fun and safe space for singing where you can explore your voice, harmonies and meet like minded people! Indie Choir is a welcoming community of singers with two available rehearsal nights on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 7.30pm-9pm in Cork City Centre.

Inishowen Singing Mamas is for all women at any age and life stage, confident singers, shy singers, car karaoke champions and shower divas - you are all welcome. Babies and children are also welcome. I have been part of singing mamas since 2018 when I lived in Liverpool and started my own group in Carndonagh in 2023. We ALWAYS make time for a cuppa and cake!!

Insieme (Italian for Together) sings SATB Acappella songs. Our repertoire to date has been ethereal style music (e.g. Lullabye by Joel, O Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen) and we are expanding the repertoire to include livelier/popular songs. The full choir has 20 members, five in each line. We rehearse every second Thursday in Donnybrook Church. For the second year running we recently featured in a choral concert in Halle, Germany, the birthplace of Handel. Many of the choir are also in other choirs. We are looking for more Altos, Tenors and Bases to join us. Some ability to read music would be helpful. There is no audition but you will know yourself if it works for you when you join.

International Harmony was formerly the IWCD (International Women’s Club Dublin) choir, founded by IWCD members in the mid 1980’s. Though no longer part of the IWCD, it retains its international membership and focus.

We are an A-Capella women’s choir, rehearsing once a week on Monday mornings during school terms. Our emphasis is on having fun and developing friendships between women of different cultural backgrounds through music-making. However, we are always endeavouring to raise the standard at the same time. The repertoire is varied, going through classical and popular, and at a choral level from moderate to challenging.

We have taken part in competitions (winning 1st prize in 2005 in the Madrigal competition at the Arklow Music Festival), but mainly we work on producing one or two concerts a year in aid of a chosen charity.

Valerie Werner has been our conductor since 1999. Over 70 women from 20 different nationalities have sung in the choir over the years.

Java Ladies’ Chorus are an A Capella chorus who have been singing together for almost 15 years!

 

The Ladies originated as a barbershop chorus. In recent years, the group have expanded their repertoire to other genres of music ranging from pop to musical theatre and Jazz! Java Ladies’ Chorus have won the top prize in the Adult Chorus Competition at Feis Maitiu Corcaigh in both 2017 and 2020 with arrangements of modern A Capella music.

I have been involved in various roles as a church musician for over 50 years. Currently I am MD and organist for Laytown church choir and MD of Meath Diocesan choir.

I am a vocal and instrumental Music Generation Tutor working in 5 schools in Wicklow. I sing with the RTE Philharmonic Choir. I am also very interested in the field of singing workshops for adults.

Just Sing! is a no-commitment choir where we encourage people to come along and Just Sing! No musical knowledge or experience required - just enthusiasm. Just Sing Junior choir starting September for ages 7-17 years. New members for both choirs always welcome.

Kenmare (formerly Neidín) Chamber Choir, founded in 2008, is a hybrid chamber/community choir of some 20+ people of various different nationalities and a wide range of musical backgrounds and levels of expertise.

 

I am a vocal coach, professional singer and director of this small regional school. We run a musical theatre course with 30 students.

The Killaloe Male Voice Choir was formed in January 2015 under the Musical Directorship of Ms. Anne Cullen. The choir has 30 members and its expanding repertoire draws on classical and contemporary pieces in four parts including musical standards and popular world favourites.

In recent years, the choir has performed regularly at venues including St. Mary’s Cathedral Limerick and St. Flannan's Cathedral, Killaloe, Co. Clare. During the pandemic the choir remained active, meeting and rehearsing remotely using Jamulus collaboration software, culminating in the online recording of the popular sea shanty 'I'm Bound Away'. In 2022 the choir made a welcomed post-COVID return to performing at the Limerick Sings International Choral Festival. It performed in St. Marys Cathedral Limerick as part of Mental Health Week, and St. Flannans Cathedral, Killaloe. In June 2023, it will perform at the renowned Killaloe Music Festival. Members come from a wide variety of occupations, backgrounds, and musical experiences.

The Kingswood Community Choir was established in October 2019, Mental Health Month. The aim of the Choir is to encourage people to come together in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and participate in a group singing experience where the emphasis is on the benefits that singing can have on our Health and Wellbeing, no previous singing experience is required.
Since our formation we have been involved in numerous events and projects, we have also moved out into the Community bringing the joy of group singing to Shopping Centres and Nursing Homes. This has brought enormous joy to our members.
There are two rules in the Choir. 1) Everybody is welcome 2) Nobody needs to audition. If you want to sing, then we will find a place for you.

We are Latvian choir in Ireland, and have been singing together for a few years.

 

The Lady Desart Choir was formed in 2017 and is a SATB contemporary community choir with 80 members ranging in age from 20 to 82 years! We love to sing and share our love of music with others through regular public performances. We strive to achieve a high standard and pride ourselves on our team spirit.

Let's Sing is an all-female group of retired teachers and friends who come together every Tuesday evening to sing.

 

Our repertoire includes Irish, Folk, American, and Religious music, as well as carols and songs in the Irish Language.

We have performed at local Carol services, in nursing homes, and in libraries.

LCU is community choir based in the heart of Limerick City, Ireland. Its aim is to make choral singing enjoyable and rewarding for the singers and audience alike. LCU consists of more than 150 voices from Limerick and neighbouring counties. LCU performs two major concerts per year and regularly performs at charity events and many other concerts and occasions. This is a very exciting year as LCU celebrates 60th years of singing with many more spectacular events in store for audiences and members.

Limerick Sings is a non-competitive choral festival, bringing choirs from varying cultural backgrounds and singing traditions together for several days of performing, sightseeing and socialising. Activities include concerts, workshops, Festival Clubs, Choral Trails around the City and County, and Outdoor Chorus in a popular tourist attraction. The Festival promotes Limerick and the wider region to national and international visitors as a tourist and cultural destination. Limerick Sings also provides first-class cultural experiences to local audiences, who can engage with the Festival by attending concerts, or participating in workshops, Outdoor Chorus, and other events.

We are a friendly SATB mixed choir of all ages about 30-35 strong.

We are a small group of like minded individuals who love to sing. We meet once a week and under Joe's direction we actually manage to sound pretty good.

Local Vocals is a seniors choir based in Clondalkin. We perform in Nursing homes and at local events.

Local Vocals Sing for Fun meet every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in the Loughlinstown Community Rooms to just sing! We are a non judgemental group, we sing for fun and make new friends along the way. You don't need to be a professional you just need to love singing! We sing with karaoke tracks or acapella where ever the mood takes us!

Music and choir is an integral part of the school life in Loreto Kilkenny. All 1st Year students take part in choir and it is an option in all other years. Each year the transition students put on a musical and this is a great opportunity for the girls who love performing. For many students in recent years, this was their first time singing together as a group since the Pandemic. The girls perform in school concerts, liturgies, competitions and charity events. They recently won a gold medal in the Advent choral festival in Bratislava and the 4 part competition at Wesley.

Louisburgh Voices is a mixed-voice adult choir, rehearsing weekly in Louisburgh Hall. The choir sing a wide range of music, has performed in Ballintubber Abbey, taken part in the Mayo International Choral Festival, and presented Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas' in Louisburgh.

Our choir is based in Lusk and is made up of members of the Lusk community and surrounding areas.

 

Lux Brumalis is a project-based mixed-voice chamber choir that brings together talented young musicians from Ireland. Founded in 2023 by its director David Yau, the ensemble was named Best Overall Choir in RTÉ Lyric FM's Choirs for Christmas Competition 2023 with its debut performance of 'O Magnum Mysterium' by Renaissance composer Tomás Luis de Victoria. Since then the choir has undertaken many projects, performing a wide variety of repertoire from the Renaissance to Romantic and Contemporary periods in various recordings and live performances. Lux Brumalis is looking forward to many exciting projects over the next few months. Madrigallery is a multi award-winning community chamber choir based in Waterford City with Dr. Kevin O’Carroll as its Musical Director since the mid-1990s.

 

Having been a member of a semi professional choir for years, and director of two choirs in Gort and Tierneevin - I love to share my passion for music with others. Our Gort Community Choir - One town one voice - aims at building community and friendships. We are a fun loving group who meet weekly and build bonds through music and song.

The Marine Singers has been in existence for 10 years, originally made up of staff from the Marine Institute based at Rinville, Galway.

 

Mayo Chamber Choir (formally Ballina Chamber Choir) was formed in 2011. Under the direction of Felicity McElroy the choir performs a wide variety of music including a cappella part songs (Sacred and Secular), Jazz and Classics.

 

We are a four part Male Voice Choir set up in 2000. Our membership is drawn from many areas of Mayo. We rehearse weekly in Music West in Castlebar which is a purpose-built facility to assist with music and song practice. Our repertoire is varied from contemporary , Irish, ballads to songs from the musicals

Mellow Tonics are a mixed voice choir formed in Dublin in 2015. We are a motley posse of dreamers and thinkers who meet every Tuesday night to sing. Together we boost our endorphins with the collective endeavour of creating something bigger than ourselves. Our repertoire stretches the divide of popular contemporary music to classical contemporary, with a particular focus on Irish-composed works. We have a special interest in collaborations with other art forms and have engaged with dancers, visual artists, comedians, architects, as well as musicians, in artistic and social projects. We are led by award winning composer and musical director Norah Constance Walsh. We love to collaborate with other creators out there, and have enjoyed the pleasure of working with dancers, artists, comedians, architects, cellists across some great venues in Dublin city centre, such as IMMA, The Freemasons and the magnificent Museum Building in TCD. In June 2019, we were honoured to perform in The Irish Cultural Centre in Paris.

Millennium Choir was established in late 1998 and had its premiere concerts in early 2000, drawing amateur singers from a wide geographical area.

 

Founded in 1996, Millicent Singers is a four-part adult choir based in the Clane area of Kildare. Attracting members from Clane, Prosperous, Allenwood, Naas, Celbridge, Maynooth, Robertstown, Kill, Longwood in Meath and other parts of County Kildare, we have a membership of around 45. We rehearse on Monday evenings from September to May in Curryhills House, Clane Road, Prosperous.

Mornington Singers is an award-winning mixed-voice chamber choir based in Dublin, Ireland, and conducted by Orla Flanagan.

Mornington Singers was the winner of the 4th International Baltic Sea Choir Competition held in Jūrmala, Latvia in September 2019. The choir was named Ireland’s Choir of the Year 2019 at the 65th Cork International Choral Festival.

We are a SATB community choir based in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Currently we have 47 members (male and female). We meet for 2 hours per week on Wednesday night and we hold a Spring Concert and 'Carols by Candlelight' Concert at Christmas.

MTU Glór Choral Society, founded in 2019, is based in the Cork School of Music on Union Quay, Cork City. They sing a wide range of repertoire, from early music to modern, both secular and sacred. As well as focusing on learning music and performing together, there is an emphasis on socialising and getting to know your fellow choristers. The Society aims to provide an opportunity for students to sing together in a student-led ensemble, and the choir takes part in performances and masterclasses throughout the year. The choir also aims to provide a platform for student conductors to gain experience in working with an ensemble. Rehearsals are held every Thursday at 6pm in the MTU Cork School Of Music.

Mullingar Choral Society has become one of the town’s longest established cultural institutions. We are a community-based, non-profit-making choir and, with approximately 80 singers, is one of the largest in the country.

 

MusiCórum is a mixed-voice choir that operates on a project basis. Its membership (max. 36) consists of some of the most experienced amateur choral singers who live in and around Cork, who have come together to sing under the direction of one of Ireland's most experienced and acclaimed conductors, Geoff Spratt.

 

The Chorus was originally formed by RTÉ in 1985 (RTÉ Philharmonic Choir) to act as the Symphonic Chorus for the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, and transferred in January 2022 with the NSO, Cór Linn and Cór na nÓg youth choirs to become part of the NCH choral family.

 

Navan Community Singers were established in 2016. They perform at a wide range of events in Meath and the surrounding area, singing at local, community and charity events throughout the year but also participating in Choral competitions and festivals and Weddings. Their Musical Director is Elaine Uí Ghéaráin They are so glad to return to performing and completion after all the time off with lockdowns and are so excited to ‘Just Sing’

Founded in 1979, the choir is a community choir and a church choir, singing in St Oliver's Church in Navan. The choir has sung at concerts and festivals across the country, from Cork to Belfast and from Meath to Mayo, including National Concert Hall performances. They've provided the chorus for Irish National Opera and Brian Irvine's Dumbworld production company. RTE performances include Mass on Sunday and Up for the Match. The choir has sung in Munich, Paris, the Isle of Man and Lourdes, equally comfortable in concert halls, cathedrals and open-air venues. New members are always welcome, there's no audition and our motto is: 'We sing for pleasure'.

International award-winning New Dublin Voices is a leading Irish chamber choir. Founded by conductor Bernie Sherlock in 2005, from the start the choir has presented concert programmes that are fresh, innovative, and exciting, ranging widely in style and period from the medieval to the contemporary. The choir takes special pleasure in exploring the music of living composers and has given numerous Irish and world premieres. The singers who make up New Dublin Voices come from many backgrounds but share in common high levels of experience and musicianship, a commitment to attracting new audiences, and above all a love of performing excellent choral music.

New Ross Singers have been around since the early 80s. We are a community based mixed voice choir under the direction of Connie Tantrum that have been to the forefront of choral singing in New Ross, presenting an annual Christmas Concert and singing at various local events.

 

The North Clondalkin Community Choir was established in September 2022. The choir is intergenerational in its composition with children and adults, many of whom are from the same family. Under the baton of Musical Director Noel Collins, the choir has grown from strength to strength over the past year. Noel is a professional musician and music teacher with over 18yrs experience teaching music at Post Primary level. There are approximately 50 members in the choir who are all from the locality. Our repertoire is eclectic and is not defined by any one genre. Our choir is scheduled to perform at the Vatican and Assisi early next year. Our focus in on producing quality performances in harmony while having fun!

Notable Works was formed in 2017 with the purpose of staging large-scale choral works in Waterford and the South East. It is a project-based choir in which choral singers come together each time for a well defined series of rehearsals leading to a performance.

The Nás na Ri Singers is a mixed voice choir established in 1972 in Naas, Co. Kildare. The 70 strong choir has Nathan Barrett as Musical Director.

OLV Gospel Choir is a group of 20 young people from Dublin, Ireland, whose mission is to inspire and uplift their audiences through the power of Gospel music. Set up in 2007, the choir sing every Sunday at the Our Lady of Victories church in Glasnevin, North Dublin City. They have participated in a number of choir festivals and competitions, travelling to London, Vienna, Nice, Rome and Milan over their time together. In 2018, the choir sang for Pope Francis as he visited Ireland for the first time. Their debut album “One Love” was released in the same year, and is available on all streaming platforms now. In 2023, OLV Gospel Choir won the renowned choir competition “Curfá” on Irish television channel TG4, which aimed to find Ireland’s best choir.

A group of all female(at the moment) who like to sing, harmonise and enjoy themselves, based in the town of Portumna.

Solidarity-Through-Song! One Town One Voice is a national initiative which helps build community singing groups in towns across Ireland with a special emphasis on community integration, diversity and respect.

 

Our singing groups bring together Irish people and those who have moved to towns from other countries in recent years. Together we use communal singing in a positive, secular, non-political and inclusive way, bringing people together regardless of nationality and building closer communities.

Opus '96 is an amateur 4-part SATB choir, performing a very wide range of choral music from early sacred to contemporary secular.

 

Our Lady’s Choral Society (OLCS) was founded in Dublin in 1945, after the Dublin Archdiocese brought together the best singers from all the church choirs of Dublin for a performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Today OLCS welcomes members from all religions and walks of life. The 120 choristers chosen for membership are united by a passion for singing great choral music at a professional level.

OLCS appears regularly at the National Concert Hall, accompanied by the National Sinfonia, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.

The People's College Choir was founded in 1993 as part of the wider cultural programme of courses and subjects offered by the People's College. The choir has 58 members (38 sopranos/altos and 20 tenors/basses) and in 2023 celebrated its 30th anniversary!

We are a friendly and welcoming bunch of people and are looking for new members to share in the joy of singing together in harmony. We sing a wide range of songs in a non-competitive atmosphere; some old, some new, some folk, traditional Irish airs and modern popular songs. It is not necessary for you to read music, though this is a bonus. All you need to do is to be able to hold a tune: we will teach you the rest and provide you with audio training aids!

We rehearse from 8 pm until 9:30 pm each Tuesday evening in Club na Múinteoirí (the ‘Teachers’ Club’, 36 Parnell Square, Dublin 1).

Playlist was established in September 2018 by five friends who wanted to create a singing environment open to anyone, regardless of their experience levels, to sing great songs for fun. Playlist sing an eclectic mix of classic songs, new and old alike!

The Portmarnock Singers are a thriving, sociable choir, meeting every Monday night at 8 PM from September to May in Portmarnock parish centre.

#wearenotachoir - Pub Cór is a monthly drop-in singing event made up in equal parts singing, fun, and community-building.

 

Your night unfolds before you like magic: you get a lyric sheet at the door, Sabrina and Bobby teach you the vocal arrangement, you end up sounding AMAZING & the video is recorded. Everyone has a ball and goes home feeling great about themselves!

THE RANELAGH SINGERS is a mixed-voice SATB choir, based in Dublin 6, conducted by Rosemary O’Brien.

 

Their repertoire ranges from Early Music to the immediate contemporary pieces, and includes a wide variety of the choral repertoire, with pieces both sacred and secular.

They compete regularly in various choral festivals and have enjoyed a number of successes, including the Lombard Murphy Cup for Sacred Music in the Feis Ceoil

They have also been awarded a Distinction for Choral Singing in Gold Standard Choir from the RIAM

They have travelled extensively throughout Ireland and abroad and have performed with several national and international choirs.

They rehearse in Ranelagh on Monday evenings. An ability to sight read is welcomed, but is not essential. 

RGC is a mixed-voice choir based in Rathfarnham. The choir performs a varied repertoire from Sacred and Gospel to Rock and Pop to gospel. We are a friendly, inclusive, and welcoming bunch that loves to sing and have fun together, while also striving to reach the high standards set for us by our MD.

 

We mostly perform at local community events and to raise funds for charity, however we are looking forward to travelling further afield in the coming year to spread the joy.

Rejoice is a small gospel choir with a big sound based near Dublin city centre. This versatile vocal ensemble has been delighting audiences with its joyful, uplifting performances and powerful voices since 2018.

 

Under the direction of Musical Director Carmel Whelan the choir performs traditional spirituals and contemporary gospel numbers in an authentic gospel style, drawing on the rich roots of gospel music and its relationship with other genres such as soul, funk, blues and jazz.

River Rhythms is a fun, community choir based in Innishannon. We are a mixed choir singing contemporary songs from a variety of genres (pop, musicals, traditional etc).

 

Since 2016, when the choir was founded, we have performed at the Cork Choral Festival, taken part in various fundraisers and local festivals and enjoyed ourselves very, very much! New members are always welcome, the ability to read music is not necessary. Rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 at Barrett's Bar, Killeady.

I am a former Church of Ireland church choir member. I now sing in Serendipity (15 years) 4 Piece Suite quartet (13 years) and Ireland Unlimited (almost 2 years).

An amateur choir, with a BIG heart, Roscommon Solstice Choir is a voluntary, community-based choir, of about 120 members under the direction of Eimear and Andrew Reynolds from Rooskey.

 

The choir provides an opportunity for people to come together and sing, socialize and to raise money for charitable causes. To date we have raised in excess of €180,000 for charitable causes. Practices are held in Kilbride Community Centre, Four-Mile-House, Co. Roscommon on Sunday evenings during Spring and Autumn and two programs of up to five charity concerts each are performed in June and December each year. The choir also participates in local community events and organises social gatherings and outings for members. Membership opens twice a year, usually in February and September. Members join the choir to help others and is open to anyone, irrespective of age, class, creed, gender or ability, with no auditions and no musical expectation.

Community Choir… participates in Community activities.. both social& ecumenical… a reconvened choir after Covid… hoping to encourage more participants to join a happy& friendly group of like minded musical lovers with a broad range of interests& talents.

Sacred Harp or shape note singing is a four-part a cappella music dating from the 16th through the 20th centuries. It is characterised by haunting harmonies, traditional modes, raucous songs, serene hymns, fast fugues, and high-energy anthems. The notation is written in shapes that correspond to degrees of the scale, making it easy to sight-sing. This tradition is democratic and egalitarian. We meet for the joy of singing together each Friday from 7 - 9 pm.

Whilst Saint Mary’s Cathedral is a church in the full tradition of the Church of Ireland, membership of that church is not a pre-requisite for joining the cathedral choir.

Sandymount Gospel Choir (SGC) has been together since 2009 and has grown so much since then, both in numbers and musically.

 

Over the past few years, we have sung at the National Busking Festival in Smithfield, the Dockers and Demons Festival with our neighbours in Ringsend, and the Shannonside Winter Music Festival where we sang in the Great Hall of Bunratty Castle. We have also been invited to sing at local churches in the Dublin area including in Sandymount, Ringsend, Irishtown, Donnybrook, and Booterstown. Our most recent outing was in early May when we sang at the local Darkness Into Light Walk in aid of Pieta House. It’s an incredibly special atmosphere to sing a song such as “The Storm is Passing Over” as the brave walkers and runners make their way into Sandymount village. We also regularly sing in local nursing homes.

The choir is under the excellent and inspiring direction of Cathy McEvoy who is a full-time musician, arranger, and composer. Cathy brings a wide range of experience of performing and teaching to the Sandymount Gospel Choir and the result is an engaging mix of traditional gospel music infused with bluegrass and other musical influences. Sharon Kinsella, Captain of the 11th Company of the Girls Brigade, Sandymount Irishtown, has been involved with our choreography over the past few years.

Setanta Choir is a mixed voice choir that rehearses every Wednesday evening in The DKit, Dundalk from 7.00pm - 9.20pm.

 

The SETU Choral Programme consists of six choirs and is one of the most dynamic and popular programmes of its kind in Ireland.

 

Since its foundation it has nurtured thousands of the most talented young singers in the region. In a fun and engaging way members are encouraged to develop their singing, musical, creative and performance skills.

Our simple yet profound aim is to help children achieve high musical and artistic standards through choral singing. Central to the ethos of the programme is the development of self-confidence, teamwork, and a positive and aspirational character. Membership is open to boys and girls from Senior Infants to 6th Year.

A community led group, Shooting Stars Choir formed in Sept 22. We are an SATB choir comprising of 38 members drawn from Dunshaughlin and surrounding areas. It's a fun loving, hard working bunch who just love to sing. It's led by the supremely talented Eileen Foley who has the vision to direct, lead and challenge us all in her remarkably positive way. We cover a wide range of popular music. Punctuated by a cuppa and a chat - rehearsals are each Tues starting at 7.30 sharp and finishing around 9.30 and are welcoming and friendly.

Sing It! is community choir of mixed voices. Founded in 2024 by Gregory and Sophie Ward with the kind sponsorship of Birr Festival of Music, the choir had it's first performance in Birr Castle in June 2024.
The 76 strong choir welcomes new members, rehearsals are Tuesdays at 7:30pm in Birr Theatre.

We are a community choir based in Donnycarney . So far our performances have been in the Dublin area and mostly to raise funds for charity. There is a great atmosphere of support and encouragement which provides a comfortable platform for the choir, soloists and small groups to shine.

This choir began in 2013, it's a combination of all ages, Male and females, who meet for practice once a week.

 

Soulful Spirit choir is a four-part  mixed gender choir.

 

Established in 2011 under the directorship of Ms Clare Kilkenny. We are a thriving and energetic choir with a passion for music. Our repertoire varies from different types and genres of music, suitable for all occasions.

To date we have performed at church and civil weddings, corporate awards nights, book launches and concerts. Our commitment to organising fundraisers to support local charities shows to date. 

 New members are greeted with a warm welcome and are well supported in becoming familiar with the choir’s material. Rehearsals take place in O’Loughlin Gaels GAA clubhouse on Tuesday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:30pm during the academic year.

I am a light lyric soprano, I was part of a soprano trio called Dulcet for over 20 years. I trained with Peter McBrien, Chris Henchy and Vanessa Sadlier. I love classical and classical crossover music.

Saint Mary’s Cathedral Choir in Limerick is a mixed choir who are always keen to encourage new members to join (Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass).

 

St Nicholas' Schola Cantorum is the music department of St Nicholas' Collegiate Church, consisting of five choirs, with singers from all backgrounds. Its purpose is to provide music for the church liturgy, to educate singers in the choral art, and to enhance the artistic life of the church and city.

We are an all-boys secondary school choir with 30 members.

 

We have sung in a variety of genres including pop music and songs from stage musicals. We have worked with composer Liam Bates in preparation for a county-wide choral concert, and performed at several events including the PPU Christmas Concert and the Kilkenny music festival

We are a parents choir affiliated to St. Mary's College Rathmines. We perform a range of SATB pieces in a range of settings from religious, social, competition and charity events.

Stagefright is an a cappella vocal group based in Wexford, providing a creative outlet for women from all walks of life who love to sing in harmony.

Established in 2014, Stillorgan Youth Choir is an award-winning choir that promotes the development of choral music in Ireland.

 

SYC is for young singers aged eight to thirteen (3rd class to 6th class). Boys and girls learn musical literacy as well as important life skills. Our aim is to foster a love of music while enabling our young singers to carry their new skills through life by being literate in reading music to a high standard. The music we sing is wide-ranging and varied, from folk to classical and popular music. We are committed to educating young singers in musicianship in tandem with developing a healthy approach to using the voice.

The Suir Valley Choir was formed in the late 1990s in Carrick on Suir and currently serves the Parish of St. Nicholas and Faugheen, and the Parish of St. Mollerans.

 

With members drawn from the town of Carrick on Suir and its hinterland, the choir performs a variety of genres from traditional church music to folk hymns and contemporary pieces. The choir has performed at various voluntary and fundraising events in the locality.

 

Swords Youth Choir (SYC) is a non-profit community choir made up of mixed voices from secondary school- ages 13 to 18.

 

Swords Youth Choir aims to:

- promote the positive effects of singing in an ensemble with an emphasis on fun, creativity, and community.

- cultivate a choral culture in Swords by teaching fundamental singing techniques and musicianship.

- create a membership that reflects the diverse and multicultural population of Swords.

Established 60 years ago as a small church, TCS has now grown to a flourishing choral society of around 100 members. We are a community-based choir affiliated with Terenure College and have been singing together for over ten years.

 

Terenure College Community Choir is a choir of approximately 50 members. Based in Terenure College, we sing a broad repertoire from great sacred music by composers ranging from Handel and Mozart to Rutter to popular classics and lighter repertoire

In addition to singing at monthly masses in the beautiful College Chapel, our calendar for the coming year will include a formal concert on October 22nd, carol services and fun performances of popular songs. While striving for musical excellence under our Musical Director, Emmanuel Lawler, we also have an emphasis on the social aspect of choral singing.

Based in Terenure College, Dublin, we are a choir of approximately 50 members. In addition to great sacred music by composers such as Handel, Mozart and Rutter, our repertoire now includes opera favourites, popular songs and songs from musical theatre.
We have performed on RTÉ television, at venues in Ireland and abroad, and we plan to do more. Since our foundation in 2013, we have remained strongly committed to musical excellence and also to the informal and social aspects of choral singing.
Under the Musical Direction of Emily Cox, the choir’s rehearsals follow the academic year, and take place on Thursday evenings, 7.30 - 9pm in the very comfortable facilities of Terenure College, where there is ample parking.

The Acapella Fellas are based in Baldoyle in North County Dublin.

 

They sing in a wide range of styles in at least three but usually four parts, using a combination of published and self-penned arrangements.

The Carrigaline Choral Group are a mixed choir SATB. We have been very successful in competitions being awarded 1st prize in the Cork International Choral Festival & New Ross Musical Festival. The Choir also held two very successful Work Shop weekends in Cork with the renowned Composer John Rutter. The Carrigaline Choral Group is a close knit group of like minded Singers who meet every Wednesday evening for Rehearsal. The choir is now under the new leadership Mathias Levy Valensi graduated from Cork School of Music and decided to make Cork his home. Mathias is originally from France and brings a vibrant energy to choral singing.
At the end of last singing season chour sang in the Cork International Choral we also did Darkness into Light with a twist. Choir went out onto the water from the Royal Cork Yacht Club and sang all the way out to Roches Point raising much needed funds for Pieta House. A Friendship Concert with a visiting American Choir from Connecticut USA concluded our singing in June 2024. New Choral Season has started and new members are very welcome.

THE CARRIGALINE SINGERS:
The Carrigaline Singers was formed 54 years ago and was originally an all ladies Choir and over the years developed into a mixed voice choir.
The group has taken part in many events and concerts both home and abroad and has travelled extensively, taking part in the St. Patricks Day Parade in Boston, performing in the famous Albert Hall in London, the International music festival in Amsterdam, the International Choral Festival in Graz and the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, to name but a few.
They have sung on several occasions with Katherine Jenkins and Jóse Carreras, and regularly host concerts in their locality with The Celtic Tenors, Phil Coulter and more recently Soprano Celine Byrne.
Their Musical Director is Alan Carney. Alan studied in Mary Immaculate College Limerick and is Vice Principal of Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh in Cobh. He regularly performs with Linda Kenny and crew in the ever popular Sunday Song Book show which is much sought after by audiences in both Cork and Dublin.
Their accompanist is Mary McCague. Mary began studying piano at the age of 5 with Dr. John O’Connor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
Mary is also an accomplished violinist and performs with the multi award winning classical crossover group “ Affiniti ”. She has performed with stars such as Michael Bublé, Leona Lewis, Kanye West, Il Divo and many more.

Bringing with her musical skills which span a lifetime, Niamh has always been involved in music, internationally and at a local level, with a wide variety of experience of all genres of music: Classical to contemporary. Niamh has performed in the National Concert Hall as a member of the female chorus for Festival Production's “The Mikado” 2007 and “Pirates of Penzance” 2008, going on to compete and win the 27th & 28th International Gilbert & Sullivan festivals held in Buxton Opera House, England. Involved in choirs, bands, song writing, musical arrangements and church music in Kilcullen from 2007 – 2009 Niamh partnered as a duet “Harmoneey” based in Kilcullen church singing classical church music for weddings, baptisms etc. Prior to moving to Kilcullen in 2003, Niamh lived in Luxembourg where she was involved in the children’s music ministry in Hollerich.

The City of Cork Male Voice Choir is a TTBB Choir founded in 1968. We have 38 active members and rehearse on Tuesday’s and Thursdays from September to June and we are always looking for new member.

The Claregalway Community Choir (CGCC) was set up in Nov 2021 and grew within a year to a beautiful choir of 30 people.

We have sung for: The Claregalway, Corrandulla & Monevia Shows; Darkness into light; Claregalway Garden Festival; People of the year awards; Galway City & County Mayor Awards.
New members are welcome at any time. We rehearse on  Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30pm in the Claregalway Educate Together National School and have a social evening once every 6 weeks for a cuppa and some home-baked goods.

The Dawson Chorus is a new fun-loving pop choir being formed in Dublin City Centre from September 2024. The choir is non-audition, non-religious and will sing pop, rock, dance music and more. The choir will rehearse on Dawson St, Dublin 2 at 6.30pm from Sept 2024. Free taster sessions/singing workshops will take place during summer 2024. The choir is being formed by directed by choir leader and music producer Philip Mackenzie.

The Dublin Bach Singers, under the baton of Blánaid Murphy, was founded in 2002, bringing together a collection of excellent choristers who share a great love of Bach. A prolific new chamber choir was born. Their inaugural performance that year, Handel’s Messiah in Donnybrook Church, established the choir as an instant success. DBS began a fruitful relationship with The Orchestra of St. Cecilia in 2003, performing in the Bach Cantata Series. That same year, the groups collaborated on Bach’s St John Passion to critical acclaim. In the next two years, DBS and OSC treated packed houses to Messiah in Donnybrook Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Armagh) and Dublin’s Pro-Cathedral. 2005 brought a new collaboration, as the Carlow Choral Society joined the Singers and OSC for Bach's St Matthew Passion at the Pro-Cathedral to further critical acclaim. That summer, DBS took part in the Gala Choral Concert of the World Harp Symposium, National Concert Hall, Dublin; a stunning performance of Bach’s demanding Mass in B Minor in the Pro-Cathedral followed in autumn. Recent years have included charity performances of the St John Passion and ongoing participation in the Bach Cantata Series, and performing the Mozart Mass in C minor at the National Concert Hall, with Kenneth Montgomery guest conducting. Their Messiah performance each Christmas in the Pro-Cathedral has earned a place of honour in the Dublin musical calendar, and they have performed to a sold-out National Concert Hall in Raymond Gubbay's Carols by Candlelight and White Christmas concerts. In 2009, the Dublin Bach Singers toured with 'The Priests', singing in venues such as the O2 Dublin, Odyessy Arena Belfast, National Concert Hall Dublin and Theatre Royal Castlebar. They also sung Allegri's Miserere in concert St. Patrick's Cathedral with CRUX Vocal Ensemble. Highlights from their 2009/2010 season included the final concert in the Orchestra of St. Cecilia's ten-year Bach Cantata Series, and a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion with the Palestrina Choir, St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral Girls' Choir and the Orchestra of St. Cecilia. 2011 saw the choir performing Haydn's Sieben Letzten Worte with the Orchestra of St Cecilia and in November the choir gave a concert under the direction of Hans-Joachim Rotzsch, former Kantor at the Leipzig Thomaskirche and 15th direct successor to J.S. Bach. In March 2012, the beginning of their 10th anniversary celebrations, they performed the St Matthew Passion with The Palestrina Choir.

 

Founded in 1976, the choir is still thriving, and numbers about 60 members. Our repertoire is very varied, and includes everything from Ed. Sheeran to Mozart! We rehearse every Wednesday in Scoil Carmel, Firhouse Rd. from 8pm to 10pm.

The Galway Baytones are a male voice a cappella group based in Galway. Formed in 2008, we perform in concerts, at weddings, charity and other social events.

The Glasnevin Musical Society was founded in 1958 and since that date the Society has staged more than 50 operettas and musicals at many venues including the National Concert Hall, the Gaiety and the Olympia theatres.

 

The Gunas are an award-winning female choir based in Killaloe and directed by Rhoda Clery. They have become widely recognised as an important contributor to the musical and cultural life of the Killaoe-Ballina and Limerick regions.

The Heritage Singers are a 3-part, non-competitive ladies choir with about 30 enthusiastic members who just love to sing!

 

We rehearse every Monday from 8 - 9.30 pm in the Heritage Centre, Balrothery. Our repertoire is very broad, ranging from Classical to Popular/Modern. We perform publicly in two concerts a year- one at Christmas and one in May. These concerts are much-loved community events.

Community adult choir , membership approximately 60 , SATB singing pieces from Mozart , Beethoven , Rutter , Hayden. 2 concerts in the year at Christmas and at Easter where members of the rte orchestra play for the choir for the performance.

The Kilkenny Choir is a mixed voice choir, whose aim is to share with its audiences a rich variety of choral music. Founded in 1992 by Philip Edmondson, it has become a nationally recognised choral ensemble. Choir members enjoy performing at its biannual concerts in some of the beautiful Kilkenny churches with stunning acoustics, such as St. Canice's Cathederal. The Kilkenny Choir prides itself on the quality and diversity of the music it performs, drawing appreciative audiences to its concerts from all over Ireland. The choir's repetoire spans musical works from 17th Century composers Monteverdi and Bach to 20th Century Britten, Duruflé, lauridsen and Rutter. It has for more than thirty years, afforded members the opportunity to sing great works to an exceptionally high standard, while pushing the musical boundaries in Kilkenny.

We are a passionate group of singers who love to entertain from our extensive repertoire of Jazz standatds, Musical Theatre and sounds of the 60's to the present day. We celebrated our 30th Anniversary in 2023 with a visit to the Vienna Music Festival and being finalists in TG4's Choral Competition " Curfa"

The Lady Desart Choir, led by Musical Director Gillian Coulter, is a modern community choir from Kilkenny that's all about bringing the fun! Founded in 2017, the choir has grown to over 75 members, male and female, aged 25 to 84. Their shows are packed with everything from pop hits and musical classics to operatic and rock anthems — trust us, you don't want to miss them!

The Lambay Singers was established in Donabate in 1998, we are an SSAA chamber choir, under the direction of Ciarán Kelly and are based in Swords, Co Dublin. We rehearse on Thursday nights.

The Lismorahaun Singers are a unique choir based in the Burren on the West Coast of Ireland. It is a non-audition choir of amateur singers, who like to take on challenging works and to share the joy of singing with the local community. Primarily, the choir welcomes new members twice each year, in September when it starts preparing for its Christmas concert, and in January, when work typically begins on a major work for a summer concert. The Plurabelles are a small chamber choir of girls voices, aged between 12 and 18 years, based in Dublin, Ireland. The group grew from a number of singing students who were already experienced soloists, instrumentalists, and members of duet and trio ensembles.

The group first came together at a summer camp in 2016, performing their first concert as an ensemble in June 2016. In their first year, the girls recorded for Lyric FM's "Choirs for Christmas", headlined a Unicef event to mark the 25th anniversary of the Ireland's ratification of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, and won the Junior section of the inaugural Clontarf Choral Festival. In July 2018, they travelled to the World Choir Games in Tshwane, South Africa, where they represented Ireland and were awarded a Silver Diploma in the Open Competition for Youth Choirs.

The choir is under the musical direction of Aine Mulvey, and their repertoire includes arrangements of Irish and international folksongs, classical art songs, sacred music, jazz, gospel and arrangements of popular songs.

The Rolling Tones Rock Choir is open to members 18+. Covering upbeat numbers from Queen to Pink, this choir is perfect for those who wish to improve their vocals and have lots of fun at the same time!

The group is open to over18 years and has no boundaries. We have one male singer and the rest are female. Our youngest member is 34 and oldest is 93. Members don’t need any previous experience. Most come for friendship and belonging and everyone is welcomed in an open group setting. We sing each Wednesday lunchtime and have staged pop-up sings in the community.

We are a casual pop up choir meeting once a month (ish). We learn a new song each session and sing it! Each event is standalone and as the song is new each time, anyone can join at any stage. You just buy a ticket and show up. Singing for fun is the order of the day and we don't take ourselves too seriously. We don't do any performances, we just record the finished product at the end of the night for posterity!

The Social Singers is a new adult group at The Voice Studio Wexford for singers who would like to socialise through weekly group singing sessions, learn some singing technique and sing simple arrangements of pop/rock songs.
The Social Singers is a mixed level, non auditioned and non performance group.
Line tapes are provided if singers wish to sing at home or catch up on anything they've missed but songs are taught in session each week so there's no pressure to do so.

We are an intergenerational choir community choir based in Tuam. Born out of a love for singing, fun and friendship. The Tome Chanters are on a wonderful journey promoting community spirit and joy to all around us.

The The Village Community Choir (VCC) was set up in the Lockdown – in May 2020 as a virtual choir to serve the community and grew within 4 years to a wonderful choir of 80 people who now sing in person.

"The Wild Atlantic Singers" is the name of the new student choir in the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Galway City.

 

Formed in October 2022, this student choir is directed by Lorna Salmon, a final year music student from University of Galway. With a great mix of nationalities in the choir, it has a real international flavour and they rehearse in ATU on Tuesdays from 6pm-7.30pm. It is supported by the ATU Galway-Mayo Students Union as one of their student societies

This Northside choir was founded as an oratorio choir in 1975 by Marie O’Shea, a native of Cork who studied music in UCC. 

 

The choir gets its name from the Parish Church of Bayside Sutton- the Church of the Resurrection where the choir rehearses each Wednesday night from 7.45 – 10pm.

The choir has continued in its dedication to oratorio and sacred music and also sings many other styles of music including spirituals, ‘Pop’, songs from musicals, Irish Airs etc., has annual concerts in May and December and performs in a number of different locations throughout the year.

Dr Edward Cetto is director and a graduate of the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford and the University of Iowa.

A choir of very mixed ability, primarily created for social access in an area of scattered population.

Most are non readers, so learning is by rote. Repertoire spans from Spirituals, folk songs, Rutter, a Lauerdsen, Whitacre, one or two madrigals. Age group 45 plus

Tredagh Singers, originally St Peter’s Choral Group, was established in 1970 by Eugene Mooney. This mixed- voice large choir prepares large scale sacred music works for performance in the Drogheda area which are performed with the assistance of local musicians and solo singers.

 

We are an Gospel Choir who welcome members of all faiths. We rehearse on Tuesday night from September to June. We sing once every two months in Christ Church Cathedral in Waterford City at the family service.

Choral singing is one of the activities offered by Tullamore Stage School. We have Children's Choir which caters for 1st & 2nd Class, Junior Choir which caters for 3rd to 6th Class, Senior Choir which caters for Post Primary students and a Ladies Choir. All groups perform various styles, both sacred and secular, with the emphasis being on enjoyment.

A group of likeminded people who meet weekly to learn the ukulele and sing as a group

Choir was formed in 2013 and will celebrate ten years of being together next year. We cover a mixed bag, from fun simple pieces to more complicated choral works. The University of Galway staff choir consists of staff/retiree members, practice takes place presently once a week from 1 - 2pm.

We are a small group of singers that started life as an online, group singing lesson during the pandemic. Originally named the ‘Solstice Singers’, under the directorship of Catrina Scullion for the first 2 years, holding our inaugural concert in December 2022. Due to work commitments, we sadly said goodbye to Catrina in the summer of 2023 and were fortunate to find a new director Shauna Donnelly, in September 2023. The group has been renamed the ‘Vicini Vocal Ensemble’ and we sing a wide range of music including classical, folk music from Ireland and around the world and pop.

We are Virginia Gospel Choir. We formed in October 2004 after a member recognised the need for an energetic and vibrant choir in the community.

 

The choir initially got together through their desire to sing something 'different', and have continued because of the close friendship, sense of self-fulfilment,the pleasure we get from and bring to our audience, and finally the family we've become just by being in this choir.

We began singing simple melodies and easy harmonies, but we craved that "Spiritual Gospel Sound". When Gordon Chimbganda joined us, he introduced various Gospel artists and diverse Gospel styles to the choir. We embraced everything and a whole new sound opened up to us. We've fully embraced Gospel Music and its message. Our love of what we sing continues to grow and impact our lives and the many others who hear us.

Virtual Voices was set up by Musical Director Shane Farrell from Loughrea in County Galway. This is an opportunity for lovers of music and singing to still attend rehearsals through an online platform with the idea of putting on concerts and various performances throughout the year.

Vocem Darύ choir was founded in Durrow in 2017 and has established itself as a vibrant part of the local community for women of all ages. From the beginning, the choir actively participated in choral events and festivals, both local and national and have discovered that we thrive on performing in front of an audience, singing everything from rock to light classical. We focus on creating beautiful music, making friends and having fun.

Based in Waterford, South East Ireland, Voci is a female voice choir founded by Anne Barry and currently conducted by Fintan Scanlon.

 

Since its establishment in 2005, the choir has been contributing to the musical life of the city, giving recitals and sharing concerts with other local groups. Voci has had competitive successes at Arklow and New Ross Choral Festivals. The choir's repertoire explores a range of music from early polyphony to arrangements of light music and also includes music by Irish composers. The choir recently sang at the St. Patrick's Day Mass for the Irish Community in Rome and also performed in The Pantheon and Teatro Don Bosco.

We are a fun and happy group of singers. We play ukeleles and harmonise to popular songs. We meet once a week and enjoy the benefits of this holistic approach to music.

 

VoiceOver choir is a small dedicated group of experienced singers based in Dungarvan Co. Waterford who love to sing from popular to classical pieces.

 

Voices of Bray focuses on a repertoire of popular and occasional light classical music, with a firm emphasis on singing for fun. The choir also aims to foster a community spirit and social interaction among members and to promote well-being through the enjoyment of singing. Rehearsals take place on a weekly basis with full concert performances several times each year. The choir has also participated in choral competitions both in Ireland and overseas, having twice taken part in the North Wales Choral Festival. Apart from the entertainment factor, concert performances are undertaken as charity fundraising events. To date (2023) the choir has raised over €75,000 for various local charities and causes.

Voices of Cork is a four part harmony community choir. Formed in 2005 with Cork’s appointment as the ‘European Capital of Culture’ . The aim of the choir is to provide good choral music within the community with particular focus on people with limited access to such music and to give members of the community an opportunity to participate and become members of the choir, regardless of prior experience. The choir’s focus is on community involvement and this can be seen in their interactive workshops with members of the community from the very young to the very old. The choir performs in a wide range of venues including Cork City Hall, Nursing Homes, Hospitals etc. Members of the choir are men and women of all ages from diverse backgrounds and are drawn from all over Cork. The choir is run by a committee who are all members of the choir. It is a lively choir and repertoire includes popular songs, ballads, jazz etc. Rehearsals are conducted every Wednesday night at St Patrick’s National School on Gardiner’s Hill Co.rk

Voices of Gorey is a brand new all-female community choir starting January 2024. Our ethos is friendship through music. There is no audition process - all are welcome regardless of past experience or singing ability. Move4Parkinson’s Voices of Hope Choir is a Choir for People living with Parkinson’s, family and friends.

Founded in 1992, Voices of Limerick is a mixed voice choir SATB of approximately 40 members whose aim is to foster an understanding and love of choral music.

 

Voices of Limerick has a varied repertoire from religious to secular and has also performed works which have been arranged especially for the choir itself. The choir has performed several times in the University Concert Hall and also in venues throughout the country.

Voices of Limerick has sung with many great artists and has taken part in many charitable events and festivals. Colette Davis is the musical director whose knowledge, talent and teaching abilities are widely acknowledged.

Rehearsal takes place on Monday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 in Mary Immaculate College.

Voices of Spring is an inclusive and intergenerational choir. Established in February of 2017, the choir was founded with the aim of supporting people living with dementia, their carers and the wider community. Since its birth it has evolved and spread its wings to welcome people from all walks of life.

Currently homed in The Mill Community Centre in the heart of Celbridge, the choir meets weekly to develop their repertoire, singing skills and harmonies for regular performances that include Culture Night, Christmas and collaborations with many other ensembles from Co. Kildare.

The choir is a strategic partnership between Kildare County Council's Age Friendly Alliance and Arts Service and its Arts and Health Specialist, the HSE, and our musical director Sadhbh O’Sullivan to further develop music and health within the county. This is a sister choir to Past Times Community Choir in Naas.

It is open to all and provide supports for everyone to participate regardless of mobility, ability and communicative impairments. We currently have a waiting list for new members but always try to provide immediate opportunities for those who are living with dementia, those in isolation or anyone experiencing ill health.

Voices of the Boyne is a female-voice choir that emerged from a group of women interested in singing that responded to a Facebook post last year. They first came together in September 2018.

Vox Orbis is a female voice choir from Galway and directed by Mark Keane. Earlier this year they won the Philip Ui Laoghaire Trophy at the Cork International Choral Festival for the performance of a choral work in Irish, and gave the Irish premiere of Kim Arnesen’s Magnificat with the ConTempo Quartet. In November they performed at the American Cathedral in Paris, performing a cappella music for upper-voices inspired by the theme of light. The choir enjoy performing diverse music programmes from Plainchant to the present day.

In 2014 RTE commissioned a documentary made by the conductor David Brophy to highlight the plight of people experiencing homelessness and how music and collective singing can be a healing bond.

 

Waterford Male Voice Choir, now in its tenth year, has become one of the premier male voice choirs in the country.

 

From an initial group of just ten members, the choir has gone from strength to strength and now has 50 singers. The choir's wide, varied repertoire is drawn from around the world. The choir is directed by Cian O’Carroll and ably assisted by Cecilia Kehoe as accompanist. The choir rehearses on Tuesdays from 8pm at Glor Na Mara Primary School, Tramore, Co. Waterford.

Community choir, we sing for the pleasure of it, no competitions. We perform in community venues, we join with our local Active Age group to sing on the beach for The Dawn Chorus. We are a friendly, welcoming group. We welcome new members.

West Wicklow Voices (WWV) is an adult community choir in existence for seven years under the musical directorship of Conor O'Reilly. WWV selects pieces mostly from the classical repertoire and the weekly rehearsals culminate in concerts at Christmas and midsummer.

Westport Town Hall Community Choir sing for health, well being and sociability. Our repertoire ranges from pop and rock to classical, folk and spirituals. We welcome males and females over 18 to enjoy the music, singing and craic.

Wexford Festival Singers were established in 1975 and since its foundation the choir has sung in almost every Wexford Festival Opera.

Founded in September 2019, we are a joyous choir of 90 members from across Cork.

 

Wicklow Choral Society is a mixed-voice amateur choir of 56 members, drawn from Wicklow Town and the surrounding areas. It was founded in 2002 under the name of the Wicklow Choral Group and changed to Wicklow Choral Society in 2008.

 

Following on the success of Wicklow Virtual Choir which, during the dreadful Covid Lockdown, kept peoples’ voices raised, as well as their spirits, Frank Kelly is starting a new choir in Wicklow for those who just want to sing!

What’s required - a love of singing and a friendly disposition!

What’s not required - the ability to read music or an audition!

Frank will draw on his more than 40 years of experience in choir training to bring out the best in you! Learning resources will be provided to help you, and voice coaching comes as part of the deal.

Rehearsals: Monday evenings 7:30-9:30 pm; Venue: Ecology Centre, Dominican College Campus.

Formed in 1989 the Wilcollane Singers is an all female choir. The choir has distinguished itself at many levels of competition throughout Ireland, Europe and the United States.

 

Wildsong Ensemble is an experimental choir. We make our own music & performance through singing, improvising, and dreaming big.

 

We welcome people of all ages, stripes & abilities, from complete beginners to professional singers & artists alike. There are no auditions. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to take a chance on your voice – whatever it may sound like.

At the heart of the choir is the belief that artistic expression is innate, and that our world needs more spaces where we can explore our artistry together: Wildsong Ensemble is one such space.

Weekly workshops take place on Wednesdays from 7-9pm in either Wexford town (the Wexford Arts Centre or the Creative Hub), or in different outdoor locations close to Wexford town when the weather is good.
