International Choral Conducting Summer School

 

The 45th International Choral Conducting Summer School returns to the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance from 1-7 August 2026 providing intensive professional choral training with an internationally-recognized conducting faculty.

Based in the beautiful surroundings of the University of Limerick, Sing Ireland is delighted to present the 45th International Choral Conducting Summer School for conductors, musician educators and choral singers.

The only one of its kind in Ireland, this seven-day intensive professional choral training offers a wealth of expertise from an internationally-recognised conducting faculty.

Course Overview

Course levels are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of conductors new to this world as well as for those experienced and already established. Participants at all levels will develop, expand and refine their core conducting technique and will advance their skills in applied score study, rehearsal technique, interpretation as well as vocal pedagogy and their ability to guide an ensemble of singers.

Complementing the core work, to include daily warm-ups, choir sessions and an evening of masterclasses, the course also includes a range of workshops to cover essential and stimulating topics to ensure a that your experience is varied, vibrant and valuable.

Your Stay

Participants will have the option of affordable on-campus accommodation booked through the University of Limerick or making their own arrangements off-campus.

On-Campus Accommodation/Catering

Accommodation on the campus grounds consists of self-catering in apartments, shared with 4-5 other participants. Each participant has their own ensuite bedroom.
