Details: Il Coro Italiano di Dublino is welcoming new singers across all voice parts.
We’re an SATB choir with over 30 members who love to celebrate Italian music, language, and culture. Il Coro was first established in 1986 by Dr. Rosa Maria Chicco-Ferraro, Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy. Since then, we have given annual concerts, and toured internationally on several occasions. Notable performance venues have included St Peter’s Basilica, Rome, Áras an Uachtaráin, the Joyce School, Trieste, St Mary’s Pro Cathedral, and tours to Tuscany, Lazio, Piemonte, Sicily, Bonn and Cologne.
Under our newly appointed Musical Director Shauna Donnelly, we have exciting plans to mark our 40th anniversary season. We sing a varied repertoire spanning Italian opera, folk and traditional songs, sacred music, madrigals, and Irish music, and provide plenty of opportunities to develop your vocal and ensemble skills along the way.
We rehearse on Saturday mornings from 10:30am–12:45pm in the Leinster Cricket Club, Rathmines, Dublin. Previous choir experience is not necessary, nor is knowledge of the Italian language. All we ask is that you can hold a tune, and that you’re willing to learn!
If you’re interested in trying out a rehearsal, please email ilcoroitaliano@gmail.com to register and get more information. We look forward to hearing you. Vieni a cantare con noi!
