Youth Committee
The Sing Ireland Youth Committee exists to represent the interests of young singers and contribute through Sing Ireland to the development of youth singing in Ireland.
The committee works to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and considered in the strategic and operational activities of Sing Ireland. It aims to engage, inspire, and support youth involvement in group singing.
Meet our Youth Committee
AMY CAWLEY
I am very excited to be a member of the Youth Committee for Sing Ireland. I have sang with the Irish Youth Choirs since 2021, and also am a member of Dublin Youth Choir. I am a student and I am extremely passionate about choral music and group singing, advocating for musical accessibility in secondary schools. I believe that group singing creates and fosters a sense of community and elevates mental health, which is a concern of mine for young people today! I believe that group singing has the ability to unite people of all backgrounds through a shared love of music and music making, and it is a fantastic outlet for young people in the fast-paced, modern world.
AODHÁN GAVIGAN
Aodhán is a final year music educator, conductor and composer in TUDublin conservatoire and Trinity College Dublin. He is also a solo tenor under the tuition of Emmanuel Lawler. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Hungary to the Kodály Institute where he furthered his studies for an Erasmus program. Aodhán is no stranger to the choral scene, having been involved in national choirs from the age of 13, he is now a soloist with the Irish Youth Choir. He looks forward to using his choral experience to help grow and nurture youth singing in Ireland, and is excited to see what the youth committee will achieve in the coming years.
NIALL KELLY
Niall Kelly is a young choral singer who started singing in his secondary school choir in Dublin. Finding his passion for music there, he progressed on and now sings with groups such as the Irish Youth Choir, Dublin Youth Choir, Chamber Choir Ireland Studio 23/24 and various project based ensembles. He has a particular interest in Music Education and is hoping to begin his degree in Music Education in Trinity College Dublin and the Royal Irish Academy of Music in September 2024.

Her lifelong passion for choral singing has led her to be an active member of renowned choirs, including MTU Glór Choral Society, CSM Coro Choir, Esker Festival Orchestra Choir, Madrigal '75, and the Irish Youth Choir. Rhea has served on multiple choir committees, gaining valuable experience in each role. Rhea's experience in both performing with and understanding the intricacies of choirs will enable her to support this youth committee's mission and contribute to shaping a vibrant and dynamic future for the Irish choral community.
