Cappella is a mixed voice, four part choir of 20 – 25 members established in 1999. We perform a wide variety of choral music. Our repertoire ranges from sacred, classical, musical theatre, gospel and contemporary. The choir has participated in choral festivals, charity events and competitions and has travelled extensively. We perform regularly at Christmas in the Hugh Lane Gallery, Marlay House and Farmleigh. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings in Ely Place, Dublin city centre from 7.15 – 9.15 pm.

Qualifications: The applicant is required to be musically competent and have experience of working with choral music, choirs and performance. Keyboard skills are desirable.

Duties of the MD will include:

Preparing for and conducting rehearsals and performances;
Maintaining and developing the current choir repertoire
Supporting the choir committee;
Making proposals for repertoire and for new opportunities/events;
Supporting the vocal and musical development of individual singers and the choir’s overall development;
Undertaking other duties as required and agreed.

Rehearsals will restart in September 2025.

This role is perfect for someone who can both challenge and nurture singers, ensuring engaging and enjoyable performances whilst having fun along the way!
