Youth Opera Ireland is delighted to announce auditions for our 2026 production of The Wish Thief by Leighton Jones, an
imaginative new opera created in collaboration with young performers. We invite children and young people (8-16 years old)
from across Ireland to take part in this exciting, professionally supported project. Through open workshops, participatory
rehearsals and creative exchange, we ensure that young people play an active role in shaping the world of the opera.

● 1 February 2026 – Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM)
Auditions take the form of a creative workshop: no previous experience or prepared piece is required. Instead, participants
explore scenes with the director, ensuring young voices guide the artistic development of the production from the outset. Further details are available on our website
