Are you a passionate and experienced musician with a love for collaboration, harmony, and the
joy of live performance? Dublin Ukulele Collective (DUC), a dynamic and fun-loving group of ukulele players and singers, is
looking for a Musical Director to lead us into our next exciting chapter!
DUC is a 25-piece ukulele band (incorporating violin, percussion and bass) that performs pop and
rock hits to audiences at major music festivals and corporate and charity events both in Ireland
and abroad. Past performances include Electric Picnic, Kaleidoscope, Áras an Uachtaráin,
Guinness Storehouse, International Ukulele Festivals and sold out headline shows at Whelans,
The Button Factory and The Sugar Club.
Key Responsibilities:
● Prepare for and lead weekly rehearsals
- Wednesdays 7:30 – 9:30pm in Red Rua Arts Centre, Tallaght
● Arrange songs for a multipart group of ukulele players and singers
● Create and record practice tracks for vocal harmonies and instrumental support
● Travel with the group for gigs, festivals and performances (local and beyond)
● Inspire and support members of all musical abilities with patience and enthusiasm
Person Specification – Essential Requirements:
● Strong musical background and experience directing groups, bands or choirs
● Confidence arranging music across varying levels of skill
● Ability to use recording tools/software to support practice outside rehearsal
● Creativity and excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
● Proficiency at ukulele
● Experience using sound equipment (Desirable)
